ESL has updated its calendar of upcoming events with an important announcement regarding the upcoming ESL One Cologne 2021. The tournament, which is scheduled for July 6-18, will be held in LAN format. However, the championship will be held in a closed studio, where spectators will not be able to get.

This news confirms ESL's plans to bring back the spirit of LAN events at ESL One Cologne 2021. However, we, as viewers, will still be left without the traditional LANXESS Arena playoffs. ESL also added that all ticket holders can return them and their money, or they can use it next year.

The changes also affected the upcoming DreamHack Masters Spring and IEM Summer 2021, which are finally transferred online. Note that both championships were originally planned to be held in a LAN format in a closed studio.

The organizers noted that the status of ESL One Cologne continues to depend on the spread of the coronavirus and the health situation. If the situation does not improve globally, there is a chance that the tournament will also be played online.
