In the first round of the Elimination Stage at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 in CS2, MIBR and Heroic triumphed over their respective opponents, securing vital victories to keep their tournament dreams alive.

MIBR Defeats 3DMAX in a Tight Match

MIBR emerged victorious over 3DMAX in a closely contested match on Vertigo. The final score was 13:11, sending the French roster to a 0-1 record in the Elimination Stage.The map veto process went as follows:

  1. MIBR removed Dust2.
  2. MIBR removed Inferno.
  3. 3DMAX removed Mirage.
  4. 3DMAX removed Nuke.
  5. 3DMAX removed Ancient.
  6. MIBR removed Anubis.
  7. The remaining map was Vertigo.

For André "drop" Abreu's team, this marked their first positive result in the current stage of the tournament. 3DMAX will look to bounce back after this tough loss.

Heroic Triumphs Over BIG

Heroic faced BIG on Mirage, and after a competitive battle, the Danish squad secured the win with a 13:7 scoreline. This defeat represents BIG's first loss in the Elimination Stage.The map veto process unfolded as follows:

  1. BIG removed Nuke.
  2. BIG removed Anubis.
  3. Heroic removed Inferno.
  4. Heroic removed Dust2.
  5. Heroic removed Ancient.
  6. BIG removed Vertigo.
  7. The remaining map was Mirage.

Johannes "tabseN" Wodarcz and BIG will look to regroup after this setback, as they head into their next match against a team with a 1-0 record, led by Abdul "degster" Gasanov and his squad.

The Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 is the first Major held in China, organized by the tournament operator Perfect World, and the second Major in the CS2 discipline. The competition in Shanghai, hosted at the World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center and the Oriental Sports Center, features a prize pool of $1,250,000.
