MOUZ and FaZe Clan Secure Their First Wins at Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024

In the first round of the Elimination Stage at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 in CS2, MOUZ and FaZe Clan earned decisive victories, leaving their opponents struggling in the lower brackets.

MOUZ Dominates paiN Gaming

MOUZ showcased a commanding performance against paiN Gaming. The match took place on Nuke, which was left after the map veto process:

  1. paiN removed Inferno.
  2. paiN removed Mirage.
  3. MOUZ removed Anubis.
  4. MOUZ removed Vertigo.
  5. MOUZ removed Dust2.
  6. paiN removed Ancient.
  7. Nuke was left over.

On Nuke, MOUZ maintained full control throughout the game, sealing the victory with a score of 13:6. The team displayed excellent synergy and adaptability to counter their opponents’ strategies.

FaZe Clan Edges Out Wildcard Gaming

In a parallel match, FaZe Clan faced Wildcard Gaming on Ancient, the map chosen after the following veto process:

  1. Wildcard removed Mirage.
  2. Wildcard removed Anubis.
  3. FaZe removed Vertigo.
  4. FaZe removed Inferno.
  5. FaZe removed Dust2.
  6. Wildcard removed Nuke.
  7. Ancient was left over.

Despite a strong effort from Wildcard Gaming, FaZe Clan emerged victorious with a close 13:10 scoreline. Key moments of teamwork and clutch plays made the difference for FaZe.

The Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 is the first Major held in China, organized by the tournament operator Perfect World, and the second Major in the CS2 discipline. The competition in Shanghai, hosted at the World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center and the Oriental Sports Center, features a prize pool of $1,250,000.
