BBC Studios will shoot a documentary about IEM Rio Major 2022. The host of the event, OJ Borg, shared the information. In addition, the news was confirmed by tournament operator ESL staff as the organizers intend to capture moments from the "unprecedented" tournament. The premiere of the documentary will take place in January 2023.
Expect this movie to premiere on the ESL YouTube channel in January 2023 (it's free to watch worldwide). The scale of the championship is unprecedented for us, so we wanted to make sure the event got the right level of storytelling around it. It's exciting!
An ESL spokesperson confirmed that production had been started by the tournament operator. However, the documentary will not be shown on the BBC platform. During IEM Rio Major 2022, the film crew will interview fans. To do this, interested parties should send an email to the BBC Studios team.

Cloud9IEM Rio Major 2022 will take place from October 31 to November 13 in Brazil at the Jeunesse Arena and at the Riocentro convention center. As part of the championship, 24 teams from the CIS, Europe, North and South America, and Asia will compete for a prize fund of $1,250,000, ranking points in the BLAST Premier table, as well as tickets to BLAST Premier: World Final 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023 for the winner.
