FalleN, who is the captain of Imperial Esports, shared his expectations for the upcoming IEM Rio Major 2022. In an interview for Dexerto, the Brazilian legend expressed his hope that his team would be able to qualify for the home championship. In addition, the 31-year-old sniper told reporters that his team is currently not in the best condition, so it’s not worth pre-writing Imperial Esports for a Major slot.

“I've been through a lot in Counter-Strike. There is nothing I haven't achieved - maybe the Grand Slam is the only thing I haven't won in CS:GO. I have achieved a lot in my career and I am quite happy with it. But the fact that there will be a major in my country? I want to be there, and not only be there, but play in front of a crowd.

Nobody knows what will happen in Rio. I am 100% sure of this. At the ESL Challenger Melbourne 2022, you could see the noise the crowd of 50 Brazilian fans makes. Imagine a full stadium with 10,000 spectators. These guys are crazy. They like to put on a show and signify their presence in the arena in every possible way. The Major will not be like any tournament that has been before. This will be something new for everyone, including me.

We don't have much time left to get to IEM Rio Major 2022. But I understand that Imperial Esports must seriously improve their game. We have to make good use of the time left before the RMR tournament and have a good performance there.

The Brazilian team is currently preparing for the Intel Extreme Masters Road to Rio 2022: American RMR, which will take place in early October in Sweden. As part of the championship, Imperial Esports will compete for one of eight tickets to the home major.

A little earlier, the tournament operator ESL announced that all stages of IEM Rio Major 2022 will be held with spectators.

IEM Rio Major 2022 will take place from October 31 to November 13 in Brazil at the Jeunesse Arena and at the Riocentro convention center. As part of the championship, 24 teams from the CIS, Europe, North and South America, and Asia will compete for a prize pool of $1,000,000, ranking points in the BLAST Premier table, as well as tickets to BLAST Premier: World Final 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023 for the winner.
