BIG and Gambit will play in the semi-finals of Funspark ULTI 2021 Finals. In the quarterfinals of the tournament, the teams outplayed fnatic (2:1) and Complexity (2:0), respectively, thus remaining in the upper bracket. While the German team will meet with K23, Gambit will play with their compatriots from Entropiq.

fnatic-BIG

The first meeting of the game day started on the Overpass map, which has become the choice of fnatic. However, BIG, having started on defense, quickly seized the initiative, converting their superiority into nine rounds of advantage. After switching sides, ALEX and the company tried to win back. But the advantage earned at the start of the confrontation was enough for the German team to win - 16:7.

Next, the teams moved to the Mirage map, which was chosen by BIG. At the same time, the teams showed two equal halves, as a result of which they failed to identify a favorite. However, fnatic turned out to be slightly stronger in overtime, managing to equalize the score in the series - 19:17.

Everything was decided on the Nuke map. Here the German team started on defense, showing not the most confident game, which helped ALEX and the company to take six rounds. However, after the switch of sides, BIG showed itself in all its glory, demonstrating its confidence. As a result, fnatic failed to adapt to the opponent's exits, allowing BIG to reach the semi-finals of Funspark ULTI 2021 Finals - 16:12.

Gambit

The final quarter-finals of Funspark ULTI 2021 Finals started on the Ancient map, which became the pick of the North American team. However, Gambit immediately seized the initiative, showing a confident defensive play. The Russian team continued to put pressure on the opponent after the switchover, demonstrating confident rounds in attack. As a result, Complexity failed to think of anything, allowing the favorite to take the lead — 16:11.

Next, the teams moved to the Vertigo map, which was chosen by Gambit. However, already in the first half it became clear that the North Americans were expecting such a choice, showing a confident defense. After switching sides, the “owners” managed to equalize the situation, which still did not save them from overtime. Here Complexity showed a series of successful rounds, thus managing to even the score in the series — 19:16.

Everything was decided on the Dust 2 map, where Gambit immediately seized the initiative, showing a confident defensive play. After switching sides, Complexity tried to win back, but in vain. As a result, the Russian team showed a confident game at the start of the new season, having won the first victory at Funspark ULTI 2021 Finals — 16:8.
