Organizer and tournament
The organizer of the championship is the company WESG which also held a major CS:GO tournament of the international standard last year. In 2017 the prize pool of the LAN-final was $1,500,000. This year the tournament is being held on March 12-18.
Participants, format and prize pool
32 collectives will take part in the championship. They will divide the prize pool of $1,500,000. WESG 2017 World Finals will start from the group stage where the participants will be divided into 4 groups and play Bo2-matches with each other according to Round Robin. The teams who have taken the top places in their groups will get to the quarterfinal of the playoff. The participants, who will finish in the last 3 places will leave the tournament receiving nothing.
The playoff will be in the Single Elimination bracket and all the matches, including the Grand final, will be played in Bo3-format.
The participants who will take 9-16 places will receive $10,000, the collectives who will finish in 5-8 places will receive $25,000, and the participant who will take 4 place will get $70,000. The bronze medalist will get $150,000, the silver medalist will receive $300,000 and the winner at WESG 2017will receive not only a title of the winner, but also a money reward of $800,000.
