About the tournament

DreamHack Winter 2017 – an annual regular CS:GO championship from DreamHack

Organizers and sponsors

DreamHack became the organizer of the event. The company has been holding tournaments for over 15 years. It should be mentioned, that except for CS:GO events, the company also holds tournaments for Dota 2, StarCraft II, Hearthstone, League of Legends and other esports disciplines.

The sponsors of the tournament are ASTRO Gaming, Monster Energy, Corsair Gaming, ZOWIE BenQ and Intel.

Prize pool

The general prize pool of DreamHack Winter 2017, as well as other DreamHack events, is $100,000, and the main money reward is $50,000. Vice champion will get $20,000. The participants that will take 3-4 places will be rewarded with $10,000. The teams that will take 5-6 places also get encouraging prizes of $3,000, and for 7-8 places – each team will get $2,000.

List of casters

The organizers have already announced the list of casters to tell about event. Tres «stunna» Saranthus will be the host of the tournaments. Recently, we could see him in this position on such tournaments as EPL #6 North America and StarLadder i-League Invitational #2.

Pala «Mantrousse» Gilroy Sen will be the interviewer.

Jacob «Pimp» Winneche and Chad «SPUNJ» Burchill will be the analysts of the tournament. It should be mentioned that both of them started their paths in the esports world as professional players. Pimp from Denmark ended his playing career on July 9, 2017 as a member of Team Liquid. Australian player Chad Burchill decided to change his activity field after leaving Renegades on June 17, 2016. Halvor «vENdetta» Gulestol, Vince «Vince» Hill, Lauren «Pansy» Scott and Conner «Scrawny» Girvan will comment the tournament.

Tournament system

DreamHack Winter 2017 will start with the group stage where participants will play in GSL system. When all matches are ended, four best teams will get to the play-off with Single Elimination bracket. Other teams will leave the tournament after taking 5-8 place.

Elmia Convention Center is located in Jönköping and this is traditional place for DreamHack events.
