The best grenade spots on Dust 2
Elen StelmakhIt's hard to overestimate the importance of throwing grenades in CS:GO. Without them, you can't expect to win on any map. With grenades, the team gets a tactical advantage, depending on the type: fragmentation, light, incendiary or smoke. Especially since every map is full of places from which one or more players engage in scattering to get to a point or occupy a particular position. In this material we will talk about the best places for throwing grenades on the map Dust 2.
You can also read our article where we talk about all the positions on Dust 2.
On the attacking side
- T-Spawn. The very first location is the rebirth place of the attacking players. From here you can throw smoke at XBOX, Long Corner, doors and many other positions. What's more, this is where the Long Spawn grenades are thrown, both to occupy the centre and to get out on the long side. Particularly with T-Spawn, players roll light grenades through the box so they can exit through doors and blast away opponents controlling the length.
- Cross. Once we occupy the length, it is necessary to close all positions where opponents may be positioned. Here we should not only close A Cross or CT-Spawn, but also set fire to the car and throw light grenades under the exit along the wall.
- Mid. In terms of occupying the centre, the main spread starts at the top of the mid, where players throw incendiary grenades at the doors, and also try to cut off open spaces with smoke.
- Tunnel. The next location is the tunnel. This is where the players exit the attack to the B captivity. A few years ago the developers opened up skyboxes above the tunnel, which added variation to the B plente. Not only can the attackers now cast light grenades through the exit, but they can also cast smoke grenades, closing both doors and windows.
- Lower Tunnel. The Lower Tunnel is usually used to pull players across the map, or split with a further exit to the midsection. However, here it is necessary to cut off the defending players who can control the double doors. From the bottom tunnel you can cast smoke to CT-Spawn, and cut off players with a wall of smokes from the B plenum. Also an incendiary grenade and flashbangs can be thrown through the doors to jump on Short.
- Short. The last spot from which grenades are dropped by the attacking players is Short. When entering the A-plot you should cut off both the CT-Spawn and the opponents who closed in the very spot. This is done by resorting to the smok wall, using various types of grenades in passing, including flashbangs.

For the defensive side
- Long. A key location from which you can watch not only the exit from the box, but also hold back A captive on the occasion of the exit of the attacking players via Short. From the Long, various types of smoke grenades can be thrown, covering both the exit from the box as well as blocking the Short. Moreover, it is convenient to cast light grenades from here, using different spots, from the Long Cog to the car (advertisement).
- Mid. From the centre, the defending players can control the opponent's movements. However, smoke and incendiary grenades, which will prevent the attacker from occupying the centre of the maps, are also very useful here. In particular, from here you can close the suicide and set fire to the exit from the palm tree.
- Window. From the window, defending players not only meet their opponent's exit to the B plenum, but can also use their grenades effectively. The most trivial option is to roll a smok into the aisle. Next, the player takes advantage of the opportunity and combines different types of grenades, cutting off the opponent's entry into the captivity.
These were the main grenade spreading spots on the Dust 2 map. It is from these positions that players can combine their grenades and inconvenience their opponents. Of course, there are other places on the map from where you can throw a smoke grenade or blind your opponent. However, all other cases are used on an individual basis rather than being used in FACEIT or matchmaking matches.
