Path of Exile 2 Act 4: The Islands of Ngamakanui, First League, New Bosses, Items and More

On the official Path of Exile website, the trailer for Act 4 has been released, which will continue our journey through Wraeclast. Act 4 will be available on August 29. After meeting Doryani, we will have to travel to the Karui archipelago called Ngamakanui. The world is in danger as the Beast grows in power, and it is on Ngamakanui that the pieces of a great weapon — the instrument of the Third Edict — are located. According to legend, this weapon is the world’s only hope in the fight against the Beast.
Path of Exile 2 Act 4 and Mini Act`s

We will set out on a journey to the Ngamakanui archipelago - the land of the Karui tribes, where both nature and its inhabitants strive to destroy anyone who steps on these shores. From the pristine beaches of Whakapanu Island to the fiery volcanic slopes of the Isle of Kin, we will have to explore eight islands full of deadly trials and, of course, powerful bosses.

One of the most interesting features of exploring the islands is that the Act is non-linear. This means that you can travel and explore the islands in any order and at any pace.
But we will also have as many as 3 mini acts, each with its own story:
- The Curse of Holten
- The Stolen Barya
- Doryani’s Contingency
The Curse of Holten - you will have to return to Ogham to help Renly rebuild the village and defeat the corruption that stands in his way.
The Stolen Barya - we will be forced to return to the Vastiri Desert and help Asala fulfill her sacred duty.
Doryani’s Contingency - in this mini act we will need to climb the great mountain of the lost Vaal descendants to find the hidden vault and uncover its secrets.
Path of Exile 2 Act 4: New Bosses

And of course, what’s a new Act without new bosses? According to the developers, Act 4 will feature more than 10 brand-new bosses — but that’s not all. The update is going to be massive in size, since the new Act also introduces an entirely new biome along with more than 100 new monster types.
Path of Exile 2: The First Full League

Path of Exile 2 is launching its very first full-fledged league — Abyss League. This marks a true milestone for the community: the game is finally receiving content that feels less like a test phase and more like a complete adventure, rich with depth and serious challenges. The developers promise that this new league will bring back the atmosphere of the original’s early seasons, but on an entirely new level — with expanded possibilities, refined mechanics, and fresh ideas.
During this league, players will encounter fissures in the ground that drain the life force of nearby monsters. Once these creatures are defeated, Abyssal spawns will burst forth — empowered with necromantic abilities drawn from the enemies they consumed. To seal the Abyss, players will need to defeat these foes.
As the game progresses, the Abyss will grow larger, stronger, and more diverse. Closing it can grant access to troves filled with valuable items, and at times even open a path underground, where players can face the Abyssal directly.
PoE 2 New Endgame Content

With the release of Act Four, the game will receive brand new Endgame maps — 25 in total — featuring environments, monsters, and bosses from Act Four and the three Interludes.
The Atlas will also be expanded with new mechanics. Players may encounter a Sandstorm infused with magic, discover a Maelstrom blocking access to a map, or stumble upon a hidden Vaal Vault guarded by the Vaal Elite and their treasures.
Each of these mechanics includes empowered versions of the Act Four boss and the final bosses of the Interludes, along with an exclusive reward pool — the new Lineage Support Gems.
Endgame will also introduce a brand new type of powerful support gem: Lineage Support. Think of them as the support equivalent of Unique items. Some will be available in the general drop pool, while others can only be obtained from specific bosses. Certain gems are build-defining, while others provide direct power upgrades.
In total, 40 Lineage Support Gems are being added, offering players plenty of new opportunities for experimentation and character progression.
New Items, Crafting Update and New Support Gems

The Third Edict will introduce a wide range of new Unique Items, some of which will be available exclusively in the Abyss League — so don’t even think about skipping the very first league. With the release of Act Four, new base item types inspired by Karui culture will also be added.
Crafting is getting a major upgrade in The Third Edict. Classic currency items like Transmutation, Augmentation, Regal, Exalted, and Chaos Orbs now have higher-tier versions.
The Greater and Perfect variants of currency are especially noteworthy — they guarantee modifiers with a minimum level, making crafting more reliable and consistent.
On top of that, high-level areas will now feature unique Exceptional items with extra sockets or quality beyond the usual maximum. All of this greatly expands the space for experimentation and gives players the tools to create even stronger builds.
