Developers’ Thoughts on Yunara

Yunara is a classic marksman designed for the bottom lane. Developers clearly state they want to keep her in the ADC role. Her gameplay is all about maintaining distance, kiting, and smart positioning.
Her power revolves around cycling abilities. Q lets her build up energy to unleash in short, heavy bursts. Her ultimate enhances all abilities, giving her a big power spike in fights.
In lane, she should play carefully and focus on positioning before Q is ready. Once available, she can start trading. A simple combo: W to slow, E to close the gap, and Q for damage. With a support who has a stun, it's almost always a guaranteed kill.
Her strongest moment is during her ultimate. As Yunara, you should engage when your ult is up. Against her, it’s better to avoid fighting until her ult runs out.
One last tip: Yunara excels in smaller, chaotic skirmishes rather than full 5v5 teamfights. To get the most out of her, choose targets wisely and keep the right distance.
Developers understand players will experiment with Yunara in other lanes, but they plan to balance her to keep her as a typical bottom-laner.
Will Yunara Be Meta in Pro Play?
She will almost certainly become one of the meta picks after Patch 25.14 drops. Her abilities look incredibly strong, and in the hands of a professional, she could be a key win condition. We’re likely to see her in upcoming League of Legends tournaments very soon.
I think she’ll be one of the most banned champions at events. That trend is common with new releases. In the first patches, Yunara will probably be extremely strong and in need of nerfs. So before Worlds Championship 2025, there’s a good chance she’ll be adjusted into a more balanced state.
