New Deadlock Hero Rem Overview: Skills, Role, In-game Look

On January 23, 2026, Valve released a major game update for Deadlock called Old Gods, New Blood, in which they announced the release of new heroes. The first of them was Rem, who was released on January 27. Rem is a small support hero that combines comfortable lane farming, light healing, and a powerful ultimate ability. In this blog, we will cover everything about the Deadlock new hero Rem, including his abilities and gameplay.
Rem Appearance

Rem is a small, bat-like support hero who combines lane farming utility, light healing abilities, and powerful crowd control with his ultimate. This is how Valve describes Rem:
"An accidental stowaway from the world of dreams, Rem has found himself stranded in the city that never sleeps. Pillow fights are Rem's preferred form of conflict, tossing his favorite pillow at enemies to knock them back when they're getting too close.
His friends, however, he likes to keep nearby - leaping to their aid when things get dicey and taking a quick nap on their shoulder. His Lil Helpers are curious creatures, taking interest in everything the streets of New York have to offer, and cheering on his allies as they go.
Ultimately when Naptime hits, no one will be able to keep their eyes open. - The best part of being asleep is being asleep."
Rem is dressed in a blue-purple outfit resembling pajamas and carries a pillow with him. At first glance, it is hard to believe that this hero is very strong on the Deadlock battlefield.
Rem Skill Overview
Let’s move on to the overview of the abilities of the new Deadlock hero Rem. Judging by his skill set, he is an effective support hero who combines control, team assistance, and damage dealing.
- Pillow Toss (1) - Throw your trusty pillow inflicting spirit damage and heavy knockback. Landing hits reduces the cooldown of your abilities.
- Tag Along (2) - Jump to an ally and nap alongside them. Both you and the ally receive a burst heal based on missing health followed by lingering regeneration. Hop between allies with 2 to refresh the duration, once per ally.
- Lil Helpers (3) - Send one of your Helpers to do a chore. They can collect boxes, do Sinner's Sacrifices, and be sent to follow allies. Helpers can follow a hero and provide a short burst of spirit resist and fading move speed. They can also follow a trooper and provide healing, damage, resists, and allow tagging along. When no hero is around, Helpers pick up souls and split them among the team.
- Naptime (4) - Rem's eyes cast your gaze forward, piercing walls and floors. Enemies in the gaze are slowed, reduced dah distance, and cannot use movement abilites. When the channel ends they fall asleep before waking up to a splitting headache that deals heavy spirit damage.
With such a set of abilities, Rem will definitely become one of the best supports in the current meta.

Rem – Which Role?
Rem performs most effectively as a support and as a contributor to team play. It is recommended to pick Rem on a lane paired with a strong hero, as he helps make them nearly unkillable. However, for Rem to be truly effective, it is necessary to choose the right item build.
