The Luminosity Gaming NA roster, for example, secured fourth place at the Marvel Rivals Invitational: North America, which took place on December 20-22, 2024.

Following the full launch of Marvel Rivals on all platforms, a superhero-themed esports game didn’t take long to emerge. Will Marvel Rivals face the same esports fate as Overwatch 2? Something tells me it won’t. While at first glance, the game doesn’t introduce a groundbreaking approach to 5v5 battles, its deep Marvel universe should keep it popular because of cultural influence – at least longer than some competitors. However, is it possible to reach the level of Dota 2, Counter-Strike, or Fortnite? I don’t see that potential yet.
