Is eSports the Best Way to Earn Money Gaming?

Today, there are many different ways that people may earn money by doing what they love. This wasn’t always the case in the world, and often, people would be pushed into traditional careers that pay a modest amount of money. However, this has changed and people can now do what they are passionate about for a living. One only needs to look at the popularity of Etsy, a platform where small businesses can showcase their products to the world and earn a living. The same philosophy has also applied to the gaming industry as eSports has emerged as a popular and viable professional sport.

Looking at the prize pools for some of the world’s biggest eSports tournaments, it is incredible to see how much the best players in the world can earn. It is not uncommon to see prize money range in the millions, similar to the kind of jackpots that the gamblers of the world typically chase after. Of course, the gambling industry has also risen in recent years thanks to the overwhelming presence of online gambling sites, and those looking to place bets can use betusonline, among a range of other available sites.

Given the kind of money that competitive gamers can earn, there is no doubt that it is a great way to earn money by gaming. However, several caveats might turn off some gamers from this lifestyle. For example, only the very best in the world can earn the jackpot at the end of the competition. Whilst some of the money from the prize pool is shared with other teams, there is no doubt that the winning spot is the desired finish for those who are involved in competitive gaming. To be the best in the world, people will need to play a chosen video game for long periods, and what was once fun might become a chore.

This is not to say this will happen for everyone though, as many professional gamers have played their game of choice for years and they still can have casual fun with it too. However, competitive gaming is not the only way that gamers can earn money. Those who prefer a more casual experience can get paid to play games how they want to by using platforms such as YouTube and Twitch. While YouTube focuses on the content creation side of things, Twitch is more suited to those who want to live stream their gameplay.

Of course, there are also advantages to these two careers too. For example, YouTube is the biggest video sharing site in the world, so the growth potential there is huge. On the other hand, since it is an old platform, it can be incredibly difficult to get established. Twitch is more suited to absolute beginners and is more social too, but it places a focus on live streaming, which may not appeal to everyone.

Gaming has evolved massively since the industry was first launched and people can now make careers by playing their favourite games. Although competitive gaming is a great way to earn a lot of money, other avenues should also be considered as these might appeal to more people.
