In an interview with Betway, MIBR coach highlights the importance of crosshairs in CS:GO

Despite the lack of recent titles, Brazil is considered a power in CS:GO. The good past campaigns of Luminosity, SK Gaming and also FURIA are valued by the world scene. One of the main reasons for this success is the quality of our players, especially when it comes to aiming. In an exclusive interview, the current MIBR coach, Alessandro "Apoka" Marcucci, extolled the importance of this basic skill in the game.

In the conversation he had with the Betway Insider team, Apoka commented on all the necessary skills, such, to become an excellent CS:GO player. However, he admitted that the most important thing remains the good old-fashioned aim, as without doing the basics it is impossible to stand out from the rest. That's the opinion of an expert in the game, and with a lot of experience.

When we talk about Brazilian CS:GO players, two names immediately pop into the fans' minds: Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo and Marcelo “coldzera” David, players who have aim as their main skill in the game.

Currently at Liquid, FalleN is an AWP expert, which means that aiming is one of the most important aspects of play. He is considered one of the best in this position, mainly due to the high use of the shots, with more than 14 thousand kills using the sniper. In addition, he has a 30.8% headshot hit.

Meanwhile, coldzera is seen on the world stage as the best Brazilian player CS:GO had. He is currently at Complexity, but the peak of his career was between 2016 and 2017, when he was chosen the best player in the world by the HLTV ranking. With a KAST of 73.7%, the athlete also has in sight the highest quality in the game. This shows how this skill is seen as something important, and who agrees with this is the current MIBR coach.

training is the only solution

The biggest challenge for some players is getting better aim, but there is no magic or shortcut for that. In a conversation with Betway, the LoL betting site, Apoka assured that only with dedication and adaptation is it possible to grow in quality on the maps. In other words, players need to train a lot to improve their CS:GO skills, including aiming.

He's not the only one with this opinion, as professional players themselves also claim that training is the only way to evolve. In a program on the SporTV channel, coldzera commented that he trains aim daily before playing competitive matches. He guarantees that some maps help to evolve in this regard, being something essential for those who want to make good numbers.

The solution, however, is not just training the aim every time. CS:GO is a complete game, and it has many variables. Having a good aim, as Apoka said, is the basic to achieve prominence in the professional scene. However, it is also important to improve the quality in other points, to be able to climb the ranking of the game and dream of a professional career.

Other essential skills

Despite all the importance of aiming in CS:GO, that doesn't mean that other skills don't make a difference during matches and championships. The most fanatical about the game know this, as well as the coaches. For example, teamwork is essential, and this explains why teams that play with the same players for longer tend to perform well. Astralis for a long time kept the line-up, and managed to dominate the world stage.

Another important skill is game strategy, especially in the last two years. Tactics started to make more difference in CS:GO matches, and those who knew how to adapt got good results. Natus Vincere is a success story, as in addition to having the excellent Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostylyev, they also have one of the smartest teams in the game. It is not by chance that it is always among the best.

CS:GO is one of the most complex games in the eSports universe, but that doesn't mean that basic skills don't matter. Apoka's interview with Betway shows this very well, and still values players who have excellent aim. Before thinking about other characteristics, training the basics is essential for anyone who dreams of standing out in the game.
