How to Play Tank to Increase Your LoL MMR

In League of Legends, tanks play a crucial part in determining the result of games. They have several duties that they must perform well. Otherwise, their team’s odds of winning are generally low, even if the ADC or the Mid do a good job.
To increase your LoL rank as a tank, you must master each of these duties and be as self-reliant as possible during the early stages of the game.
What Is Your LoL MMR
Your LoL MMR is the matchmaking system’s evaluation of your level of skill. This number is hidden but you can get your League of Legends MMR check on a variety of sites.
To increase your MMR in LoL, you must both win matches and have a significant contribution to your team’s success. The second part is especially true if you’re playing tank because tanks are not supposed to get carried. They are supposed to have a major impact on the game.
How to Play Tank in LoL
The first step to becoming a competent tank in League of Legends is to understand the job requirements. Here’s what you’re supposed to do:
Absorb damage
Being a tank allows you to absorb a lot more damage than other champions before getting killed. It also allows you to heal much faster, assuming you have purchased the right items and picked an adequate champion.
These strengths give you the option to play aggressively against the opposing team in fights and pressure it to use attacks and abilities on you. Of course, that doesn’t mean you should be initiating fights completely on your own. You want your teammates to be close enough to take advantage of your initiations.
But it does mean that you’re expected to make things happen. You cannot just sit in the back and wait for someone else to act. When the time is right, position yourself in an aggressive way and either blink in, use your abilities, or move toward the enemy team. That will usually prompt a response.
Once you start taking damage, you should either retreat if you’re simply getting right-clicked to death, or try to absorb as many abilities as possible if your opponents are foolish enough to waste ultimates on you.
However, do not tank damage until you are dead because that would not allow you to make use of your healing potential and then reengage. As a tank, the goal is to use at least some of your abilities twice and to absorb more than 100% of your HP in damage.
Initiate fights

When fights are about to break out during the mid-game, you will often be in the front line. In other words, relative to your and the enemy team’s position, you will be the tip of the spear that initiates the battle or the shield on which the opposition’s attacks will land.
Knowing in advance that this is your responsibility, you must purchase the right items and don’t play too greedy. Novice players tend to invest their gold in fancy items that will increase their damage instead of purchasing more armor, HP, magic resist, and mobility.
If you want to experiment with unusual and potentially ineffective builds, you should use LoL smurfs. On such accounts, taking big risks for the sake of experimentation is perfectly normal. Even if you lose the game, at least you will learn what works and what doesn’t, and you’ll be better equipped to win on your main.
Just try not to stray too far from the path when playing at a high rank because your teammates will have expectations from you and will not hesitate to report you if you do something that’s obviously silly.
Win your lane
One of the most important aspects of mastering the tank role in LoL is to learn how to play the laning phase so that you’re ahead by the end of it. Warding to avoid getting ganked, trading effectively, coordinating with your jungler, and getting as many last-hits as possible is vital.
Every now and then, you will get the opportunity to get a valuable kill in the first 5-10 minutes. Nobody expects it of you but at the very least, try not to get killed yourself.
The better you do on your own during the laning phase, the more pressure your jungler can put on the mid and bottom lanes.
