How to Get the Darkbringer Sword in Crimson Desert

Looking to get one of the best two-handed swords in Crimson Desert and the skills that come with it? Then this guide is for you. The Darkbringer sword not only has an impressive look but also features a unique skill, Ator's Orb, which releases tracking laser orbs when you attack, dealing damage to enemies.

Why You Need Darkbringer

Darkbringer is a two-handed sword with powerful attack stats and stylish visuals. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that attacking releases orbs that automatically track enemies. The sword is suitable for both early and late stages of the game, especially if you know how to combine it with other skills and gear. It is easy to acquire once you know the exact location, namely from the jaw of a giant skeleton.

Step 1: How to Reach White Wastes Sanctuary

Start from the Hernand location. You need to travel north to the Poon region, in the top-left corner of the map. There you will find the White Wastes Sanctuary. Nearby is a Fast Travel Point, which makes returning easier. If you have Frost Magic, the easiest route is via Path of Trials Abyss Sky Island, from where you can quickly reach your destination. If you don’t have the magic yet, you will need to ride your horse across the map. Tip: collect fire and frost magic on Abyss Island beforehand, as it will make the journey much easier.

Step 2: Setting Up Fast Travel

Before reaching the skeleton, it’s a good idea to unlock all fast travel points along the way. Look for natural bridges or cracks in the mountains. These often hide Fast Travel Points that will be useful for future visits. You can also find small treasures and useful items in the surrounding area.

Step 3: Finding the Giant Skeleton

When you reach the area, look to the sky — crows flying around indicate the direction of the skeleton. The skeleton is huge, and its skull is particularly eerie. You can use your Lantern and special helmet abilities to inspect the skeleton and learn more about its story.

Step 4: How to Grab Darkbringer

The sword is located in the jaw of the giant skeleton. Stand directly under the jaw and hold the appropriate button (Square on controller) to pick up the sword. Make sure to position yourself correctly, otherwise you won’t be able to grab it. Once done, you will obtain Darkbringer with 5 equipment slots (3 unlocked) and the unique Abyss Gear — Ator's Orb.

Step 5: Weapon and Skills — Ator's Orb

Ator's Orb is a special skill that activates with R2 attacks (Forward Slash). It creates orbs that track enemies and deal damage on impact. You can remove the skill from Darkbringer and equip it on another weapon, just like any other Abyss Gear. Forward Slash is a basic attack for all swords, so this ability works on any two-handed sword. It’s recommended to combine Ator's Orb with other Abyss Gear, such as Crow's Pursuit, to create powerful builds for crowd control and additional damage.

Step 6: Tips for Using Darkbringer

Darkbringer is effective both early in the game and in the endgame thanks to its refinement (refine) potential. Use skills in combination for maximum damage. Be sure to explore the surroundings, as these areas often hide interesting Easter eggs and bonus items.
