What is the СS:GO Prime Status and How to Get it?

Prime is a status designed to enable gamers to play rating matches with those who already possess the status.
The Prime Status is a restrictive measure incorporated by Valve and aimed to provide comfort of the game avoiding gamers that make a game unpleasant and dishonest as there are no cheats, smurfs and ruiners. However, owners of the Prime Status may face these problems: one can only imagine what could happen if Valve did not accept the measure.
What Gives the Prime Status and How Does it Work?
It used to be possible to get the Prime Status in two ways. The first option was to achieve the 21 rank of the account which is linked to a mobile number. You just had to play CS:GO as much as possible.
After the end of the match, points (or won rounds, for the competitive mode) will be multiplied by two multipliers — by a multiplier of the mode from the chart below and by a multiplier of the bonus which is described in the paragraph below and turns into experience. Experience is allocated at the end of a match, so, if a player leaves the match before its end, they lose all the experience they have gained.
Mode | Experience Multiplier |
---|---|
Arms Race | 1,0 * points |
Casual | 4,0 * points |
Competitive | 30 * won rounds |
Deathmatch | 0,2 * points |
Demolition | 2,5 * points |
Wingman | 15 * points |
Once a week if the level is updates, players get a skin for weapon and the owners of an operation pass get skins from the collection included in the operation. Besides, overwatch gets additional experience for making right verdicts.

The rank system works in the following way: a player starts with the first rank and after the end of each game they are allocated some experience points that depends on the outcome of the match, results of the gamer and other factors. This method was created to protect from smurfs as not many people would be ready to spend several months getting to the 21st rank.
The second option is much simpler and is not going to be complicated in any way, but definitely more expensive. It implies a purchase of the Prime Status in the game – it costs $14.99 in the official Steam Store.
How to Get the CS:GO Prime Status?
If you want to gain the Prime Status in 2022, you will have only one option to get it. On 4 June 2021 Valve remade the way of getting the Prime Status. The restrictions do not concern players who had gained it before it was updated, so if you have an old account, you may consider yourself lucky. Now without the Prime it is impossible to play a rating game and the players who already have it may choose between rating (games for titles) and regular matches without risking losing a title. Also, gamers without Prime do not have a chance to get in-game drops - cases, skins and medals. Newbies can try themselves in regular games but you should remember that you could face inadequate players who can make an unpleasant impression after the match.
In 2022, there is only one legal method to get the Prime Status — its purchase in the official Steam Store:
- Go to Steam Store
- Visit Counter-Striker: Global Offensive
- Choose Buy CS:GO Prime Status Upgrade
- Run CS:GO and activate Prime
