How to Get More Subscribers on Twitch

As entertainment evolves, one of the most exciting and lucrative new hobbies/jobs has grown on Twitch. Twitch streaming is a great way to connect with people who like the same things as you and build a following. If you are popular enough, you can even turn the whole thing into a job.

So, if that's something you're interested in, how do you even start?

Set Goals

Before you even get on stream, it's always good to sit down and get an idea of what you want for your channel. This is important at every stage, from newbies to Twitch Partners.

Have stream goals, have monthly goals, but most importantly, have goals for the kind of streamer you want to be.

One of the easiest things to focus on and have goals about are your schedule and your followers.

What kind of schedule do you want to keep? Do you want to stream two times a week? Do you want to stream every other day? Or do you want to stream twice a day on the weekdays and take weekends off?

While it's better to stream a lot, consistent streams are also important, too. Think of your channel like a TV program. It's easier for people to show up if they know when you'll be there.

Also, set attainable viewer goals for each month. You don't have to meet them all the time, but goals always help set a clear direction for any project (Twitch channels included).

Connect With Your Followers

Speaking of followers, one of your best tools in growing your subscribers is the relationships you build with your viewers.

Whenever anyone pops up on your stream, make sure to be friendly. Make them feel like you aren't just here to show off. Show them you care by asking them questions and having conversations with them. That helps convince people to come back and become followers or even subscribers.

You can also help yourself by getting involved in social media. The more platforms you have that show off your style and encourage new followers, the better.

The best social media recommendations for Twitch streamers would be Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. There, you can show more of your personality to your followers and share some of your Twitch clips or VODs, too.

Another great platform to connect with people is Discord. On Discord, you can build your own little community. Doing that can make your followers feel like they're closer to you and that your channel cares about them, making them so much more likely to hit subscribe.

WePlay Connection

One great way to connect with people is to keep up with community events, so check out WePlay Events (https://weplay.tv/) to watch some fantastic esports. Whether it's on Twitch or their own dedicated app, you can find like-minded gaming fans who could also become your own Twitch subscribers and build your community.

Make your Page Look Good

An effective way to attract people to your stream is to make it look like a pleasant, inviting space. That, and make its visuals reflect who you are and what you're about.

While Twitch's basic channel set-up is pleasant enough, it looks so much nicer when you take the time to create your own channel panels, stream overlays, and pick your own Twitch extensions. Anyway, this can get your community more involved than ever, giving them more things to interact with on your page.

Many streamers use services like Zerging, Streamlabs, and other tools to get graphics for their channel. Others make their own using things like photoshop, or if you can spare the change, hiring a graphic designer can give you some really cool, unique artistic content.
