How do you play popular casino games such as blackjack, craps and roulette?

Online gambling sites such as HitSpin casino offer a real plethora of different types of games, so there is something for everyone. The basic types of casino games include table games and skill games. Table games include, for example, roulette in one or more varieties (American, European and French), blackjack, baccarat, poker, craps or bingo. Skill games, on the other hand, are generally slot machines, i.e. a computerised version of the popular coin-operated slot machines, also known as one-armed bandits in our country.

Which gambling games are best for beginners?

If you've never played any casino games, we'll give you some simple tips. First of all, slot machines are great for beginners, as they don't have any complicated rules. All you have to do is indicate the amount you want to bet and pull the virtual lever or press a button.

Slot machines

Virtually every slot game is based on 3 or 5 reels containing different symbols. If 3 or more symbols line up (or any other accepted arrangement), you get a win. These games provide truly immense enjoyment, some of the best include titles such as Thunderstruck, Terminator, Mega Moolah, Bust the Bank, Piggy Fortunes and many more, plus you can sometimes win truly gigantic amounts of money.

Table games

Table games, on the other hand, are designed for more experienced players, as they require knowledge of the rules and sometimes even basic strategy - which is particularly important in the case of card games such as blackjack (also known as "oczko" or 21 in Poland).

Blackjack

This famous casino game only looks difficult, but it is very easy to understand its rules in order to become a big winner. It is a game in which the player must score more points in his cards than the dealer, but without exceeding the value of 21. If the player scores 21 points in the first 2 cards, he will have "blackjack". The cards themselves have the following values:

  • Ace is worth 1 or 11 points.
  • Jack, queen and king are worth 10 points.
  • The rest of the cards have their value according to the imprint, so, for example, a five is worth 5 points and a ten is worth 10 points.

During the course of the game, any number of cards can be drawn (one per turn), but if a player exceeds 21 points, he loses the round.

Roulette

One of the most attractive casino games with very simple rules is roulette. In roulette, players place bets on single numbers between 0 and 36, as well as on groups of numbers (e.g. black/red, even/odd, from one column, etc.), and then the croupier spins a numbered roulette wheel and releases a ball around its circumference. When the wheel stops, the ball falls into one of the numbered compartments, so that the winning number and colour is known (each roulette number has its own colour).

There are three variations of this fascinating game:

  • European roulette,
  • American
  • French roulette.

However, the general rules are the same in all three cases. As a matter of fact, in European casinos, the most popular version is the first one, and it is rare to find online casinos that offer players the opportunity to play all three variations of this addictive game. The differences are that the roulette wheel in the European version has 37 compartments (single zero and 36 numbers), while the American version has 37 (single zero, double zero and 36 numbers). The French roulette wheel, on the other hand, is identical to the European one, but all the messages and inscriptions on the table are in French only - so it is, in a way, an elitist and somewhat snobbish version, in a positive sense.

Poker

Another popular casino game is poker. It most often comes in Texas Hold'em, Omaha or Casino Stud varieties. But the most popular of all is the former. And what are its rules? Let's start with the fact that Texas Hold'em uses one or more full packs of cards (52 pieces, no jokers). The rules themselves are very simple and the gameplay is extremely exciting, as final success depends largely on skill and mastery. Each player is dealt two cards face down, one face up is placed on the table. A round of betting ensues, after which the dealer puts the second card face up on the table. This pattern is repeated until there are a total of five exposed cards on the table. After the final betting round, the players compare the strength of their hands, using any number of the seven available cards (i.e. two in hand and five publicly available from the table) to form their hands. The player with the strongest cards wins, of course.

The hands themselves are typical of poker, i.e. starting with the strongest they are royal flush, straight flush, carom, full house, three of a kind, two pair, pair, high card. There are also possibilities in the form of a straight or a flush, so it's worth going through all the options before playing.

Dice

Dice is played with two cubes (i.e. the traditional ones found in any popular board game). Up to 12 people can play at the same time. However, only one player becomes the dice thrower each round. In order to participate, everyone has to pay a minimum stake set by the table (except in the free-to-play version), which can vary depending on the level of play. All players must choose the type of bet in each new round, and then the thrower starts the game by rolling the dice on the table. The winner of the round is determined by the sum of the results of the dice thrown associated with the possible bet types.
