Guide to Phantom Assassin. Great choice for beginners
Yuriy SheremetThe hero has always been popular in pubs, especially at low ratings, where with a certain level of skill, you can win games. The character does not have difficult gameplay, so even a beginner can play it. It is enough to understand the approximate game plan and normally stand the line. Recently, the hero has occasionally appeared in the pro scene, and many players train on it at a high rating, since Phantom Assassin is a great example of a classic carry, on which you need to be able to move around the map and with teammates.
pros and cons of a hero
pros
- Thanks to the Stifling Dagger skill, it is possible to safely farm creeps in the lane.
- Low mana cost and fast cooldown of main active skills.
- The ability to dodge 50% of the time causes the enemy to buy MKB
- Has explosive damage that can kill supports in 2-3 hits
- It is possible to quickly move around the battlefield due to the Phantom Strike skill
- Good attack speed due to the Phantom Strike skill, which allows you to somewhat save on artifacts that give attack speed
- Easy to learn
Minuses
- Small amount of health. Protection only against physical attacks, which in turn makes the hero very vulnerable to magicians, especially with good one-time damage.
- Dependent on BKB
- Farming slowly without items
- In the late game it becomes very problematic to play without bkb
Capabilities
Stifling Dagger
Throws a dagger that slows the enemy's movement speed, deals 25%/40%/55%/70% + 50% of the hero's attack damage as physical damage, and applies item and ability effects.
- Can be cast on spell immune creatures. Instant attack pierces immunity, slow does not
- The flight speed of the dagger is 1200.
- Upon hitting a target, the dagger causes Phantom Assassin to perform an instant attack against it
- The dagger first takes a percentage of Phantom Assassin's total damage, then adds 25%/40%/55%/70% extra damage.
- The dagger first deals damage, then applies the debuff.
- The projectile has a flying vision in a radius of 450 units. On a successful hit, vision is delayed by 3.34 seconds. at the location of the target.
- Cannot be applied to couriers.
- When the level 25 talent is selected, this ability launches 2 additional projectiles at random visible eligible targets within the cast radius.
Phantom Strike
The hero teleports to the selected creature and, if it is an enemy, gains additional attack speed.
- Phantom Strike can be cast on allied units without gaining bonus attack speed.
- Moves Phantom Assassin to the target, towards the location the target was in when the spell was cast.
- Does not allow projectiles to be avoided when teleporting.
- Phantom Assassin is ordered to attack the target, automatically canceling the residual animation.
- Cannot be used on couriers.
Blur
The hero focuses on himself, which allows him to dodge attacks. Casting the ability will blur the wearer's outlines, making them invisible if there are no enemy heroes nearby.
- Interrupts Phantom Assassin's spells on cast.
- Makes Phantom Assassin invisible and immune to the Reveal Invisibility effect. Only the Chronosphere can reveal the hero.
- Attacks or casting spells do not break invisibility.
- The effect is dispelled if the caster is within 600 range of an enemy hero (including clones, but excluding illusions) or enemy structure.
- The effect is also dispelled when Roshan attacks, but not instantly, but after a delay.
- Evasion and the active part of the ability are not related to each other. Dodge will always be active.
Coup de grace
The hero hones his combat abilities, getting a chance to make a devastating critical attack on the enemy. Stifling Dagger's ability gets the same chance.
- Increases attack damage by 15%/33.75%/52.5% on average
- Chance to trigger stacks with other sources of critical damage
- Coup de Grace uses pseudo-random distribution
Leveling abilities
In the lane, we can constantly strain the enemy thanks to the first skill, and it also helps to last hit the creeps if it is difficult to approach them. If you understand that you will have to go into the forest early, then the blade should be left at level 3 and start pumping 2 skills, because it is he who speeds up our farm. Blur is not very useful in the early game, later on we use it to avoid getting caught on wards and farm the lane unnoticed.
Talents
At 10th level, the right talent is chosen. At 15, priority is given to the left talent, contrary to statistics. The point of taking a talent for misses at level 20 is not very big, since enemies will sooner or later buy BKB against us. At 25, the reliable talent is the crit talent, not the 3 dagger talent, all pro players in their pubs choose it.
Items
Assembly examples:
All builds are about the same, the main item is the Battle Fury. You need to buy it through the ring for the first money in order to get regen and stand the line freely. Send a courier as soon as you get close to buying a ring, this will happen in the early minutes, so the courier will not be flying yet, so you have to wait.
Then there is the Desolator + Basher variant, and only then BKB, but this variant is quite greedy, our hero suffers a lot in the mix without BKB, so many strong players buy BKB after BF. Recently, more and more often you can see Manta Style on the hero, this is due to the good stats that the item gives and the ability to throw something off yourself. But this option is not very popular, especially at low ratings, so it's better to stick with the classic build.
Gameplay
In lane, Phantom Girl's main task is to farm. With a strong support, you have the ability to get kills, but it's better to focus on farming the initial items.
For the Phantom Girl, the middle of the game is when you buy the Black King Bar and start participating in the life of the team. It's not worth getting into any major battles without BKB. Phantom has good protection against physical damage, due to armor and a chance to dodge attacks, but the hero is powerless against magic. When the fight begins, do not climb forward. Wait for the enemies to use their basic control skills and powerful spells, and then join the battle. At the same time, it is worth attacking those targets that you are able to kill in the shortest possible period of time, that is, it is worth attacking supports, mages or carries. Of course, the enemy carry hero will be the most ideal target, but it is not always possible to reach him even with the jump. During the fight, the Phantom relies on its crits and the ability to quickly move between targets. Don't stand still and use your Phantom Strike as soon as the skill is ready to use. Do not forget that this is not only a jump, but also the ability to significantly increase the attack speed.
When farming, try to enter the lane with Blur on, so that the enemies do not see you on the map and start moving towards you.
