Guide: How to Rent Skins in Counter-Strike 2

Renting skins in Counter-Strike 2 is a new feature that allows players to temporarily use rare and beautiful skins without spending large amounts of money. This guide will cover how to rent skins, which skins are available, and the duration of the rental.

How to Rent Skins in CS2

As of the publication of this article, skin rentals are only available for the "Kilowatt" collection, which was added to CS2 in February 2024. Here are the steps to rent skins:

  1. Purchase a "Kilowatt" Case:
    • Cases can be purchased in-game or on the marketplace.
    • The case contains skins from the "Kilowatt" collection.
  • Purchase a Key:
    • A key is required to open the case, costing 2,50$ dollars.
  • Open the Case:
    • Find the "Kilowatt" case in your inventory.
    • Click "Open Container."
    • Select the "Open to Rent" option at the bottom of the screen.
  • Receive the Skins:
    • After opening the case and selecting the rental option, 17 skins from the "Kilowatt" collection (all except the Kukri knife) will appear in your inventory.
    • These skins can be used in any game mode.

Benefits of Renting Skins in CS2

Renting skins offers several benefits for gamers. It is a cost-effective option, allowing players to use rare and expensive skins for a small fee instead of making a costly purchase. This is especially useful for temporary needs, such as participating in a tournament or testing a skin before deciding to buy it. Renting also provides variety, enabling players to change the appearance of their weapons and equipment without incurring significant expenses for each item. Additionally, renting grants access to rare skins that might be difficult to find or highly priced on the market, allowing gamers to enjoy these coveted items on a temporary basis.

    Skin Rental Duration in CS2

The rental period for skins is 7 days. After this period ends, the skins will automatically be removed from your inventory. To extend the rental, you need to repeat the steps mentioned above.

Important: You cannot apply stickers or name tags to rented skins. They also do not have a StatTrak kill counter.
