Dota 2 TI 2025 Compendium Fantasy Guide

On August 20, the long-awaited Compendium for The International 2025 was released in Dota 2. Valve made the Compendium free for all players and added a lot of interesting features, including updated Fantasy mechanics. In this blog, we will make a detailed guide on Fantasy Draft — what it is and how to play it.

What is The International 2025 Compendium Fantasy

Fantasy is an annual in-game event that comes with the Compendium before The International. In it, you need to create your own team from professional players and enhance it with emblems, and for successful performance and points earned you will receive prizes. Only accounts that were active before the event started can participate.

How to play Fantasy?

To take part in the Fantasy Draft in Compendium 2025, click the FANTASY button in the main Dota 2 menu and the event tab will open. You need to build your own team of 3 players: core, mid, and support. All players presented in the Fantasy Draft are participants of The International 2025.

To create a team, click the “choose player” button and pick one from the list. Fill all three slots in your Fantasy team, then press “continue.” Your roster is ready.

Next, the team management menu will open. Until the roster lock, you can change players, their titles, and war banners. Let’s take a closer look at each element:

Players. You can change a player for free and at any time before the roster lock. Currently, team formation is available for the Road to The International stage (roster lock — September 3) and for The International 2025 (roster lock — September 11). The Fantasy team roster is the key mechanic of the event. Pick the players you believe will perform the best.

Titles. Each player has a double title. Titles multiply earned points if the required condition is met. Example: NAVI midlaner Niku has the title Even-keeled, which includes the option bestial that gives +15% if the player is playing a hero with horns or wings, and even-keeled, which gives +25% if the player is tipped 5 or more times.

War Banner. Each player has a composite war banner. It contains three emblems. Each emblem has its own color, stat, tier, and trait. Here’s how it works:

• Emblem Color — determines the list of stats that can be calculated for the player. There are three colors: red, green, and blue. Red — solo gameplay, green — team gameplay, blue — support gameplay. You cannot change the color of emblems. Core players have two red and one green emblem, supports have two blue and one green, and midlaners have all three colors.
• Emblem Stats — show specific statistics that will be tracked for the player. This may include gold per minute, number of kills, collected runes, and other in-game stats. Emblem stats points are the foundation for earning Fantasy points, as all percentage bonuses apply only to them. Other factors are not considered.
• Emblem Tier — gives different bonuses to the multiplier. The higher the tier, the lower the chance of obtaining it during generation or replacement. Emblem tiers: 1st tier: +10% 2nd tier: +30% 3rd tier: +60% 4th tier: +100% 5th tier: +150%
• Emblem Traits — determine the specifics of how emblems interact within a war banner. There are five traits: benevolent, incorruptible, friendly, unique, and vampyric. When replacing a trait, you are guaranteed not to receive the same one you already had. Each type of emblem has its own characteristics, including adding bonuses, increasing emblem stats, and more. What each trait gives:

You can change player titles, emblem parameters, and war banner characteristics. To replace something, you need to spend a replacement token. At the beginning of each stage, 40 such tokens are given.

How to win in Fantasy?

To win in Fantasy, you need to score as many Fantasy points as possible. This is the sum of emblem points from the two best game maps in a series, multiplied by bonuses. A player can play any number of BO3 matches, but only one — the most successful — will count. If a match consists of three maps, the map with the lowest number of points earned is not counted.

There will be two periods: Road to The International and The International 2025. After each of them, Dota 2 will calculate progress and grant rewards. In-game actions that give points:

• Kills: +121 per kill;
• Deaths: 1800 initially, –180 for each death;
• Creeps: +3 for each denied or last-hit creep;
• Gold per minute: points equal to GPM × 2;
• Emerald pickups: +19 per picked emerald;
• Towers: +340 per destroyed tower;
• Observer Wards placed: +113 each;
• Camp stacks: +170 per stack;
• Runes: +121 per activated or bottled rune;
• Observer takeovers: +121 per captured Observer;
• Lotus pickups: +213 per collected Lotus;
• Roshan kills: +850 for Roshan last-hit;
• Teamfights: points are granted for participation in teamfights, exact calculation unknown, maximum — 1895 per map;
• Stuns: +128 per second of applied stun (works on creeps, heroes, creep-heroes, neutrals, Tormentors, Roshan);
• Tormentor kills: +850 for Tormentor last-hit;
• Courier kills: +850 for courier last-hit;
• First Blood: +1700 for the first kill in the game;
• Smoke of Deceit use: +283 points per use.

If at the end of the period your result is better:

• 0–25% of participants — 60 points;
• 25–50% of participants — 600 points;
• 50–75% of participants — 2,400 points;
• 75–90% of participants — 4,200 points;
• 90–95% of participants — 8,400 points;
• 95–99% of participants — 10,200 points;
• 99–99.9% of participants — 11,400 points;
• 99.9–100% of participants — 12,000 points.

The more Compendium points you earn, the higher your place in the global ranking. You can earn points not only by participating in Fantasy but also by making predictions for each stage of the event. Fantasy Rewards

During The International 2025, you need to collect as many points as possible, because that's how you'll earn rewards. Here are the rewards you can get depending on your results:

• 85–90% percentile — 1 month of Dota Plus;
• 90–95% percentile — 1 month of Dota Plus and one Arcana Token (it grants any Arcana item of your choice);
• 95% percentile — 2 months of Dota Plus, one Arcana Token, 50% discount on the physical Aegis replica, and one Tyrian Regalia (it grants one purple Immortal item of your choice);
• Top-1500 players — 6 months of Dota Plus, one Arcana Token, 100% discount on the physical Aegis replica, and two Tyrian Regalia;
• Top-100 players — 12 months of Dota Plus, one Arcana Token, 100% discount on the physical Aegis replica, and 5 Tyrian Regalia.
