Dota 2 History – 3 Most Epic The International
Yuriy SheremetThe main esports tournament – The International – is firmly pulling up to Dota 2 fans. The organizers are raising the prize pool, checking the equipment, and the teams are going through shakeups, working on their tactics traps. And while Dots fans are looking up the schedule of new tournaments on eplay-info.com, it’s time to remember three brightest tournaments of the whole history of The International series.
The International 2018
When tournaments took place, there appeared an interesting pattern: in even years victories were celebrated by the teams from the Heavenly Empire, and odd years brought top prizes to cyberclubs from the Old World, or America. Most Dota 2 stars joked that in even years they should have held a Chinese championship instead of an international event.
In 2018, the grand final hosted a battle between the Parisians from PSG.LDG and the Europeans from OG. The decisive fight was bitter but little details and subtleties let the Chinese esportsmen win. The score was beneficial for them. By the fourth map Paris outscored 2:1, and lots of fans thought that OG’s number was up.
Surprisingly, OG showed their will to victory, and in the most difficult situation they won the fourth map. At the decisive battle, from the very beginning PSG took control over the situation. The amount of kills was growing until it reached the fatal score for OG – 29:13. Attention of the whole esports world was focused on Roshan. The Europeans managed to have an unforgettable attack that resulted in a defeat of all four opponents and the Aegis.
The knocked out PSG were unable to oppose and eight minutes later we saw 34:35. The triumphans OG dropped the throne and broke the parity between the mainlands. China lost the final for the second time.
The International 2016
Surprisingly, the highlight of the event in 2016 wasn’t the final. The brightest memory happened in the semifinal battle between Evil Geniuses and a team from Beijing called ЕНОМЕ. The battle between the masters from the cyberclubs turned into an end play. Evil Geniuses succeeded in reaching the base of the opponents, killing four of their rivals.
Only Juggernaut managed to survive. He decided to do something worthy of a kamikaze and stormed out to the Geniuses’ throne alone. The result of a failed act of heroism was predicted beforehand. The response raid to the base of ЕНОМЕ was held by EG’s offlaner. His partners kept the light away from Mega Creeps leaving the players one chance out of one hundred to win. Universe made a paradoxical decision – to buy Divine Rapier and help the others. The outcome: the Chinese were resting in a tavern without a bayout, and the overseas partners were dancing on the ruins of the main building.
For the first time in The International history,l one of the teams managed to defeat Mega Creeps.
The International 2013
The fight presented all fans a real pleasure from the final epic battle between Natus Vincere and the Scandinavians from Alliance. It is useless to retell the details of the battle. It’s worth watching and rating the greatness of the players.
It is impossible to use words to tell you about the effect of the trick of a witty Swedish mid-laner s4. Gustav Magnusson left his trace in the history of The International, as a performer of Dream Coil million bucks.
I strongly recommend you to spend an hour of your free time and watch the el-classico of Dota 2 (this is how the fans named the unforgettable battle of two strongest cyberclubs).
Waiting for The International 2021
The expectations about the new tournament are replaced by arguments about winners and losers. We should hope that the results of The International-2021 will keep an unforgettable trance in the history of Dota 2.
