Brawl - New LoL Game Mode: How to Play, Dates, and More

With the release of patch 20.10, Riot Games has introduced a brand new and exciting game mode — Brawl. In this blog, we’ll talk about what this mode is all about, how to play it, and of course, when it will be available. So, let’s dive in!

What Is the New LoL Mode – Brawl?

Brawl is Riot Games’ fresh take on fast-paced gameplay, and this new mode highlights exactly that. In Brawl, you and a team of five clash on a small section of the map, killing each other and pushing waves of minions toward the enemy base. It’s pure, brutal action with zero strategic fluff — all you need to do is kill, kill again… and then kill some more. Sounds fun, right?

If you think about it, it’s a bit like ARAM, but with a twist. The biggest difference — and the best part — is that you get to pick your champion, just like in a regular match. Another key feature: no objectives other than the main structure (a portal). Your only task? Fight non-stop.

Games are designed to last around 10 minutes of intense combat — think of it like a Deathmatch mode in shooters, but with your favorite LoL champs.

How To Play Brawl and How To Win

Now let’s talk about how to play Brawl and what can lead you to victory.

The game starts with a pick phase. At the beginning of each match, your structure (the portal) will have 250 HP, and the goal is simple — the first team to reduce the enemy portal’s health to zero wins.

To drain the enemy team's health, here’s what you need to do:

• Take down enemy champions – Each takedown deals 5 damage to the enemy team.
• Kill minions – This deals 1 damage, but only if the enemy team isn’t already at low HP.
• Push your minions into the enemy Bandle portal – Each minion that reaches it deals 1 damage.

Earlier we mentioned that there are no towers or typical objectives — but there is something more exciting. On the sides of the single lane, you’ll find special camps that grant either gold or powerful buffs.

And this is where things get tricky: you'll need to find the right moment to grab those buffs while also defending your portal — let too many enemy minions slip by, and you’ll pay the price.

Brawl Release Date and End Time

Below, I’ve listed the release and end dates for the Brawl mode. And yes, unfortunately, you heard that right — this mode will only be available for a limited time.

Brawl will be available until patch 25.13 goes live on June 24, 2025, so don’t miss your chance to try it out while it’s still here! You’ve got a limited window to dive into this fast-paced, chaotic mode where it’s all about action, fun, and nonstop team fights — without the usual strategic pressure.
