BF6 Season 1 Meta: Best Build for Long Range, Close Range and Sniper

In the first season of Battlefield 6, the weapon customization system became the main feature of the game. Thanks to the Pick 100 system, every player can create a unique weapon, but you’ll have to choose — either power or mobility. As a result, there are no universal solutions; everything depends on your role in the team. In this article, we’ll go over the best builds for three combat types — close, medium, and long range — so you can tailor your loadout to your playstyle and battlefield situation.

How BF6 Builds Work

Battlefield 6 uses the Pick 100 modification system, where each attachment costs a certain number of points from a total budget of 100. Expensive attachments — such as suppressors, large magazines, or advanced optics — define your weapon’s style but limit other upgrade options.

This system prevents creating a “universal” weapon and encourages specialization by role. Each class has its own advantages: Assault players can carry two primary weapons, Engineers specialize in anti-vehicle combat, Support maintains squad effectiveness, and Recon dominates with scouting tools and killstreak bonuses.

Meta Build for Long Range

LMG BF6

In Season 1 of Battlefield 6, the long-range meta revolves around the LMG DRS-IAR, which performs best at long distances in Battle Royale mode. Its main strengths are high accuracy, manageable recoil, and excellent bullet velocity — making it ideal for long-range engagements and consistent damage output.

DRS-IAR build:

Ammunition POLYMER CASELevel 15
MuzzleCOMPENSATED BRAKELevel 18
Magazine36 RNDLevel 12
ScopeRO-S 1.25XLevel 29

Use this setup to deal solid damage across long distances — but remember, mobility is reduced compared to SMGs or assault rifles.

As an alternative, you can use the LMG M250 or RPKM, which also has solid stats and good damage output:

M250 build:

ScopeA-P2 1.75XLevel 17

The DRS-IAR is the best long-range weapon, but only if you’ve unlocked higher-level attachments. The M250 requires fewer upgrades, making it a great choice for low-level players. The RPKM is also one of the best LMGs in the current Battlefield 6 meta — while it’s less effective in close-quarters combat, it dominates at medium range with a steady 553 RPM fire rate and around five shots to kill at distances from 15 to over 80 meters, making it exceptionally deadly.

Meta Build for Close Range

SMG BF6

In close-quarters Battle Royale combat, the USG-90 is currently the top performer, while the SGX serves as a great alternative. These weapons offer high fire rates, fast ADS speed, and great mobility. The USG-90 provides stability and precision in chaotic fights, while the SGX is ideal for aggressive play, allowing quick eliminations at short range.

USG-90 build:

TypeAttachmentMastery Level

As you can see, the SGX requires less leveling to unlock its key attachments, so it’s a solid option for early-game close-range fights.

Meta Build for Sniper

Sniper BF6

No Battle Royale would be complete without a sniper rifle — and Battlefield 6 is no exception. Sniper rifles remain vital for controlling large areas, covering teammates, and eliminating enemies before they get close.

The current meta’s best choice is the PSR, known for its precision and high damage. As an alternative, the M2010 ESR is a balanced rifle with slightly faster reload and better mobility.

PSR build:

TypeAttachmentMastery Level

Both sniper rifles are excellent for long-range roles in Battlefield 6 Battle Royale. The PSR demands higher levels to unlock its best attachments, while the M2010 ESR can be effectively modified even at lower levels.

Each of these weapons defines the meta within its own range — DRS-IAR, M250, and RPKM dominate at medium and long distances, offering stability and raw power; USG-90, SGX, and SL9 shine in close-quarters combat with their superior mobility and quick handling; while PSR and M2010 ESR remain the top choices for snipers who control the battlefield from afar. Ultimately, it’s up to you — whether you prefer to eliminate enemies from a distance, suppress them with heavy machine-gun fire, or strike swiftly with an SMG. Battlefield 6 lets you create your own meta to match your playstyle.
