Battlefield 6 Season 1 — Everything You Need to Know About the First Season

After the start of the full-scale war on October 10, 2025, Battlefield 6 players can expect a series of major updates. The developers have revealed details about the first season — Rogue Ops, which will mark the beginning of post-launch content, introducing new maps, modes, weapons, vehicles, and other improvements. Below is a full overview of the main features of the season.

When Does Battlefield 6 Season 1 Start?

Battlefield 6 Season 1 Preview

The first season of Battlefield 6 kicks off on October 28, 2025, across all platforms.

This is the first major free update after the game’s release, laying the foundation for the future seasonal system. New content will arrive monthly, with each phase of the season bringing unique maps, modes, weapons, and limited-time events.

Key Dates:

  • October 28, 2025 — Season 1 launch: Rogue Ops
  • November 18, 2025 — California Resistance update
  • December 9, 2025 — Winter Offensive event

By the end of October, players will be able to dive into new battles on fresh locations and try out new weapons and vehicles.

What to Expect from Battlefield 6 Season 1

The Rogue Ops season marks the first major step in the game’s post-launch evolution. It adds new content to both the standard multiplayer and the Portal Builder Tool, which allows players to create their own missions and scenarios.

Main Additions in Season 1:

  • 3 new weapons
  • New map — Blackwell Fields
  • New game mode — Strikepoint (4v4)
  • New vehicle — APC Traverser Mark 2
  • New attachments: Rail Cover and LPVO
  • Two thematic events — California Resistance (November) and Winter Offensive (December)

This update shows that each season will have its own theme, atmosphere, and gameplay mechanics to expand players’ tactical options. In addition, the first season will also introduce the very first Battle Pass in Battlefield 6, which we’ll cover in more detail later.

Maps in Battlefield 6 Season 1

Battlefield 6 Winter Map

The first season introduces a brand-new core map and a temporary winter version of an existing one:

  • Blackwell Fields (October 28) — A large-scale arena supporting all types of combat: infantry, ground, and air. Set at a restored U.S. airbase in the California desert, where Pax Armata agents launch a series of attacks on NATO facilities.
  • Empire State: Ice Lock (December 9) — A winter variant of the Empire State map. As temperatures drop in Brooklyn and snow covers the city, new weather conditions change the dynamics of combat.

As winter arrives, players will transition from desert warfare to snowy urban battles.

Game Modes in Battlefield 6 Season 1

Strikepoint (from October 28) — A tactical 4v4 mode where two teams compete for control over key objectives across multiple rounds. Each soldier has only one life per round, emphasizing precision and teamwork.

Ice Lock Event (from December 9) — A limited-time event during Winter Offensive, featuring the new Freeze modifier. This mechanic changes gameplay rules in select modes, adding unique tactical challenges.

Weapons in Battlefield 6 Season 1

Season 1 introduces several new weapons, each expanding the capabilities of different player classes:

  • SOR-300C (Carbine) — A compact assault rifle chambered in.300 Blackout, offering higher damage than the standard 5.56.
  • Mini Fix (Sniper Rifle) — A lightweight bolt-action rifle for mobile scouts who prefer fast-paced, precision strikes.
  • GGH-22 (Pistol) — A high-rate sidearm with an extended magazine, perfect for close-quarters combat.
  • Ice Climbing Axe (Melee Weapon) — Available during the Winter Offensive event (December 9). Ideal for melee encounters or breaking fragile environmental objects.

Each weapon enhances tactical variety, giving players more freedom to adapt their combat style — from aggressive assaults to precise sniper plays.
