This region features two unique maps, each deeply tied to the theme of Norse myths and designed for specific game modes:

  • Royal Palace (Domination mode): This map takes players into a luxurious palace reminiscent of Asgard's grand halls, where teams fight to control a central point. Spacious interiors and courtyards provide plenty of tactical opportunities.
  • Yggdrasill Path (Convoy mode): Inspired by the paths of the World Tree Yggdrasil, as depicted in Marvel comics and movies, this map challenges attackers to escort an object along scenic routes while defenders use the environment for ambushes.

The map's design combines familiar elements of New York with areas distorted by interdimensional influences, creating a fragmented, otherworldly environment. Players will encounter unique gameplay mechanics, including low-gravity zones that allow for dynamic vertical movement—all set against the eerie, mysterious atmosphere of eternal night.

  • Midtown (Convoy): Dracula has taken over New York, plunging Midtown into eternal night. Players will battle across iconic locations such as Avengers Tower, the Baxter Building, and Grand Central Terminal, now shrouded in a sinister atmosphere. The narrow streets and alleys of Midtown create a dynamic environment for strategic combat, where teams either escort a moving objective or attempt to halt its progress.
  • Central Park (Convoy): This map transports players to Central Park, transformed under Dracula’s influence. Its central feature is a gothic castle, presumably inspired by the real-life Belvedere Castle, serving as the headquarters of the vampire invasion. Players must fight through darkened forest paths and ruined urban landscapes to reach the castle and complete their objectives.

Arcade Mode Maps in Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals currently has two maps used for arcade modes such as Convergence and Doom Match. They are not as popular as the maps played in more common modes, but they are still worth mentioning.

  • Ninomaru (Conquest): This map represents a futuristic Tokyo, where a time rift caused by the Entanglement of time streams threatens to expand and disrupt the Webs of Life and Destiny. The Master Weaver harnesses the rift’s energy to strengthen the Web, while his apprentice, Spider-Zero, seeks to seal the rift, leading to a conflict between them.
  • Sanctum Sanctorum (Doom Match): This map is set in New York, plunged into eternal night due to the interference of Dracula and Doctor Doom, who stopped the moon’s movement to unleash an army of vampires. Players battle inside and around the Sanctuary, using its multi-level structure, teleporters, and portals for strategic maneuvers. These elements allow for unexpected attacks on enemies and rapid movement across the map.

Game Modes in Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals will feature 3 main and 2 arcade game modes. You can already find detailed information about All Marvel Rivals Game Modes on our platform. Here's a brief overview of these modes:

  1. Domination: Two teams compete to control a single point on a small map. The team that captures the point must hold it until their progress bar reaches 100%. Once the point is captured, the game transitions to another small map, and the process repeats. The first team to capture two points wins.
  2. Convoy: Teams are randomly assigned as either attackers or defenders. The attackers must escort a moving object (such as a cart) to the end of the map by staying near it. The defenders attempt to stop its progress by eliminating the attackers. If the attackers deliver the convoy to the final destination within the set time, they win.
  3. Convergence: This mode combines elements of Domination and Convoy. The attackers first capture a control point and then escort an object across the map, passing through several control points. Defenders must prevent both the capture and the escort. The attackers achieve victory by capturing three control points within the allotted time.
  4. Doom Match: This intense new game mode, introduced in Season 1 of Marvel Rivals, takes place on the enigmatic Sanctum Sanctorum map. Designed as an arcade-inspired mode for 8-12 players, it challenges competitors to rack up as many KOs as possible in a chaotic, fast-paced battle. The twist lies in its competitive structure: only the top 50% of players with the highest KO counts at the end of the match emerge victorious. With its blend of high stakes and dynamic combat, Doom Match provides an exhilarating challenge of skill and strategy for Marvel Rivals players.
  5. Conquest: This mode offers dynamic and fast-paced battles where players can hone their combat skills and test new heroes in intense fights. Matches usually last around 4 minutes, making this mode perfect for short gaming sessions without the pressure of ranked matches.
