Match Prediction: TT Gaming - Edward Gaming | LoL
LPL Spring 2022 - Group Stage (Week 1-5)The first match of the day kicks off with EDward Gaming players likely to take out ThunderTalk Gaming as they did with JD Gaming.
Moreover, considering the overall balance of power on this split, TT seems to me the weakest of the teams. If they can strain the reigning League of Legend champions, it will come as a shock not only to me, but to the entire pro scene.
ThunderTalk Gaming Form
ThunderTalk is one of the lagging LPL bands. And now it looks like the main outsiders of the split.
Over the past two years, they have shown not the most comforting results, sitting in the last places. So the last two seasons have shown a tendency for the team to often experiment with their lineup, which does not often play a plus.
In two matches, they only proved it, losing outright both times. The players show extremely good performance on a personal level, however, from the coordinated team movements and actions from the opponent's side, they immediately begin to crumble.
ThunderTalk Gaming LPL roster:
- New - top lane.
- Frigid is a forest.
- Captian - mid lane.
- Puff is a bot lane.
- Southwind - support.
EDward Gaming Form
The reigning champions from EDG played with the same roster as they did now at Worlds 2021 and since then have not rolled out their main roster anywhere. At NEST 2021 and Demacia Cup 2021, they announced different players in different combinations, but even so they were able to perform with dignity.
In their only match in the LPL Spring 2022, they played with a relatively average team, but even so they showed that no one lost their grip and everything goes under their dictation and according to their rules.
The only thing we haven't seen yet is Xiaoxiang. We may still see a replacement top laner in this split, but it's difficult to predict when.
EDG roster:
- Flandre is top lane.
- Xiaoxiang is a top lane replacement.
- Jiejie is a forest.
- Scout - mid lane.
- Viper is a bot lane.
- Meiko - support.
Meeting history
Both teams have met each other before only twice: in the spring and summer split of the last season LPL Spring/Summer 2021. It will surprise no one that the results were in all games with a score of 2: 0 in favor of the champions.
Outcome
A confident flat at the score 2: 0 in favor of EDward Gaming.
But seriously, no matter how much I calculate the options in which ThunderTalk Gaming has at least some chances, I still can't believe them. Yes, there is a chance that TT will miraculously be able to catch one of the strongest teams on their mistakes and take one card, but then EDG will just get together and make 2: 1. But the chances of such an outcome are extremely small.
