Match Prediction: Team Vitality - Excel Esports | LoL
LEC Summer 2022 - Group StageGreetings to all League of Legends esports fans! At EGamersWorld, together we continue to analyze the events of LEC Summer 2022 and make our predictions. Let me remind you that this is the largest League of Legends tournament in Europe, and €200,000 EUR and three places at Worlds 2022 are at stake .
We are now in the 6th gaming week of the tournament, which in terms of the distribution of matches between the teams will be absolutely mirrored in the 2nd week of the LEC, perhaps with slight changes in the order of meetings.
Team Vitality vs Excel
A rematch that can bring both 3rd and 5th place to both teams.
The second match of the day will be much hotter than the previous one. As in the second week, Team Vitality and Excel will face each other. And if it’s not even worth talking about the second one, since this is a local “dark horse”, then Team Vitality is also not badly offended and is only one game behind the opponent. For the participants, this meeting will be very important, because it may decide to reach the playoffs and every victory now counts.
Team Vitality uniform
For many years now, Team Vitality have been holding the title of a strong middle-class player in the European pro-scene of League of Legends. Forever a place in the center of the standings and departures at the beginning of the playoffs. Is everything still in place?
Of course, VIT is a good team with a lot of experience in the LEC. But they always lack something to put the squeeze on and start taking at least third places in tournaments. That is why at the beginning of spring we saw an updated roster, which immediately showed itself well, led by the former midlaner G2 Perkz. And during the time with LEC Spring 2022, they also had time to play. So now the former mid-laner of G2 is working hard for the French team and has already managed to win the MVP title for himself 4 times.
Currently, Vitality are 6-5 in matches and play their role of “middle brother” quite consistently, offending those who are weaker and getting from those who are slightly stronger than them, with a few exceptions
And while their game looks quite worthy of the esports scene. Very good draft and working compositions along with proper teamwork. Problems arise only against strong teams, if they fail to carry out a maneuver - they get lost and often lose fights to zero.

Excel form
To say that Team XL didn't surprise anyone at the start of this split would be a complete lie. If only they managed to finish the game with G2, then everyone would now call them local “killers of kings”.
As many of the commentators and analysts have noticed, their game in the spring and now are two huge differences. Starting from the LEC Spring 2022, where they showed themselves to be average, the players trained hard and managed to play together for a year.
The trainers of YoungBuck and Nelson also did a lot of work, obviously having earned their fee. Judging by the team play XL - they did a phenomenal preparation of macro play and control over the entire map.
Most recently, they had a completely disastrous 4th week, where they fell off twice from teams weaker than themselves: Astralis and SK Gaming, and this amounted to half of their total number of losers. But immediately after, during the 5th game week, they caught up with two wins against Misfits Gaming and Fnatic. Miracles, and nothing more.
They are 7-4 in head-to-head matches and are currently third on the leaderboard, only one game behind the leaders! A dark horse is a dark horse.
So far, Excel's ideas and strategies look very workable and interesting. They are the team that sets the pace and refreshes the entire European pro scene this summer. And if they are in a good mood, then you should be afraid of them like fire.

Meeting history
Again, let's return to the past matches of LEC Summer 2022, where we saw the battles of two rosters in action. Excel won that meeting, paying less attention to unnecessary fights, more controlling the map and objects. Everything looked very professional, like a measured game, where the team knew exactly where and when to spend resources. As a result, Vitality won with 4 dragons and the Baron.
I believe that this match is indicative and so far. After all, from the very beginning of the split, both teams have been playing at full strength.
Match outcome
Both teams can be considered more or less equal in strength. However, it is important to note that Excel has a much stronger team game in the distribution of resources, team movements on the map. And in mass battles, they are a little less likely to get lost than Team Vitality. So, in general, XL should be stronger than his opponent. I think Vitality can only win with a perfect draft.
Bottom line: Excel will win.
