Let me remind you that this is the largest League of Legends tournament in Europe, and €200,000 EUR and three places at Worlds 2022 are at stake.

Team BDS vs Astralis

In the first match of the day, an outsider will meet in the face of Team BDS and Astralis, who are now quite good. Yes, it’s true that both teams are lagging behind and weaker teams of the entire LEC, but even so, we can confidently say that there is a favorite - Astralis.

The worst team at LEC Summer 2022, which has a solid lead in terms of the number of losses from other teams. So far, they look extremely weak with their score of 1-9 in matches. But there is also a single, but honorable victory - against G2 Esports themselves.

This is the first summer split for the guys from BDS. The team played very mediocre at LEC Spring 2022, after which they replaced the top liner and support. Personally, I think that with Erdote and especially Agresivoo they look much better than before.

In my opinion, their main problem is the love of risky decisions. It often happened that, having gained an advantage, they did not try to press the opponent carefully and play around the objects, but arranged a swing.

During the first week, they preferred to overclock the map and paid very little attention to objects. But that changed to the second. In the last two meetings, the guys began to play more around the dragons and the baron-pit, trying to leave the soul behind. In the game with G2, it worked very well.

The guys certainly have potential, which can only be revealed in serious work on the mistakes in the team game and the draft. So far, the team does not look very competitive.

Astralis shape

The team for which this competitive year will be the second in history and immediately to the LEC. A young team in League of Legends esports, and therefore it is still difficult for them. All previous three splits ended at the bottom of the leaderboard.

Also, Astralis became one of the few teams with slots on the LEC who almost completely changed their roster since the spring, after an unsuccessful performance at the LEC Spring 2022. It is possible that such changes did them good, because now they are beating teams of the middle-low level, though not without difficulty.

At least a big change that really benefits and moves the team is the support player JeongHoon, who has already received MVP twice and this is in the support role! I am sure that this experience had a very positive effect on Astralis.

Now they are 4-6 on par with SK Gaming and slightly behind 4 teams at once with a score of 5-5. Considering the team's performance in the previous three splits, where the team managed to show itself, now their form is the peak of what we could see before. Many commentators and analysts agree with this opinion and admire how Astralis has grown over the year.

I think that it is worth paying attention to one single match that has already been held between the current team rosters - their game 5 weeks ago. In it, Astralis is quite confident, with the help of the team of the game around the objects they defeated BDS.

Match outcome

Both in terms of drafting, individual players, and overall team play with coordination - I like Astralis much more than Team BDS. Speaking very roughly, the former are now head and shoulders above BDS. But there is also the moment that the group stage takes place in the Bo1 format and the same “G2 accidents” can happen again.
