Match Prediction: Rogue - Misfits Gaming | LoL
LEC Summer 2022 - Group StageGreetings to all League of Legends esports fans! At EGamersWorld, together we continue to analyze the events of LEC Summer 2022 and make our predictions. Let me remind you that this is the largest League of Legends tournament in Europe, and €200,000 EUR and three places at Worlds 2022 are at stake.
We are now in the 6th gaming week of the tournament, which in terms of the distribution of matches between the teams will be absolutely mirrored in the 2nd week of the LEC, perhaps with slight changes in the order of meetings.
Rogue vs Misfits Gaming
An easy game for the Rogue guys or will the Misfits show their mettle against G2?
Rematch between Rogue and Misfits Gaming. Let's be honest, if in previous games it was difficult to single out a clear favorite, then here we have a Rogue car, however, which have lost their crazy winstreak. On the other hand, the Misfits are certainly a good team, but have been experiencing severe stability problems lately. Well, let's take a look at the form of both teams!
Shape Rogue
Rogue is one of the three main favorites and contenders for leadership in this tournament. Those who are rightfully called the main rival of G2 Esports. But it seems that now they are repeating the situation with the group stage of the spring split almost 1v1. Or maybe much better!
The guys took first place in the group stage of the LEC Spring 2022 and lost to G2 only in the final of the playoffs, with a score of 0:3. Before that, they also took the championship at LEC Summer 2021 in groups and performed well at the Worlds of that year.
In the spring, we saw an updated roster from the team, which was quite an expected move on their part. After all, Rogue constantly lacks the strength for the “last push” to finish the European playoffs in order to show itself better in world tournaments. New jungler Malrang straight from South Korea who will bring new experience to the team and ADC from Greece Comp.
Rogue didn't get off to a good start, knocking off their "main enemies" G2 Esports and Fnatic twice in the first week of the tournament. However! Since then, they have not lost a single match and now go with an impressive winstreak of 8 games! But at the very end of last week, they stumbled upon their sworn enemy in the person of G2, who once again defeated them. Although, to be honest, G2 seems to be slightly weaker now. In that match, I was very confused by the Rogue draft.
In general, a very strong team that does not let go of the mistakes of its opponent and is good at team battles, and in drafts shows almost perfect compositions. I don't think they can afford to lose against medium-weak teams.
Compound:
- Odoamne - Topliner
- Malrang - forester
- Larssen - midlaner
- Comp - ADC
- Trymbi - support
Misfits Gaming Uniform
Top 4 – 5 is the LEC team, which showed itself very well in the spring split, but since then it has lost its positions so much. Usually they are used to running on par with the same G2, Rogue, Fnatic in the group stage. But the beginning of this split was, to put it mildly, a disaster for them. Three defeats in a row from teams that are considered weaker and the fourth pocket from Rogue.
Nevertheless, the Misfits were able to pull themselves together and forcefully comeback immediately to a 5-4 score, taking a winstreak in 5 matches. However, the previous game week again brought disappointing news for the team and two defeats.
As I thought, this could be the result of the Tempering of Champions patch, which dramatically changed the League of Legends meta and MSF players took a little time to adapt.
On a very important note, starting this in-game week, the Misfits will be playing alongside Nikolay " Zanzarah " Akatov as a jungler. He was transferred from his own academy team, the Misfits Premier, who competed in the LFL. Zanzarah will take the place of the less experienced Shlatan. Let's see how it will affect the game of the team.
So far, Misfits Gaming seems to me to be something extremely unstable. Yes, they can show their hare fangs to Fnatic and G2 Esports rosters, but they can also unexpectedly lose to Astralis. The guys have a very good potential and strength with an experienced one, but they lack team play. Together with a new jungler, the stability of the team will fall even lower due to lack of teamwork.
Compound:
- Irrelevant - Topliner
- Zanzarah - forester
- Vetheo - mid laner
- Neon -ADK
- Mersa - support
Meeting history
Perhaps, instead of the history of previous meetings, I will turn to the last match in the same tournament, which was 4 game weeks ago. In that match, Rogue outsold the Misfits in literally everything from teamfights to vision control and neutral objects with turrets.
I think it will be harder for Rogue to break Misfits Gaming players this time. But for the Misfits themselves, the enemy seems too strong for their current form.
Match outcome
Pretty obvious, as for me, the match, if you do not take into account that it will be held in the Bo1 format. We have a clear favorite under the Rogue tag, which dominates the entire LEC group stage for the second split in a row. But their opponent, Misfits Gaming, have weakened and are playing with unplayed players, although they can win on character.
Bottom line: Rogue should win no questions asked.
Bookmakers & Statistics
All bookmakers have agreed that Rogue is the favorite. This can be noticed because odds on them are 1.449. This number in the favor of Misfits Gaming amounts 3.012. Respectively, the last ones are the underdogs of the upcoming match.
