Esports news Keen Gaming
In brief:
Keen Gaming is an organization that appeared after it separated from EHOME. The club showed good results at both local and international levels for some time but the players got dismissed afterwards.
Let us introduce you to the story of the tag Keen Gaming.
First Appearance
In fact, Keen Gaming appeared in 2015 under the aegis of EHOME. Keen. The subdivision existed for three years – from 2015 till 2017.
In 2017, the gamers decided to leave EHOME to create their own organization which was later known as Keen Gaming. The first roster was made up by all former players of EHOME.Keen:
· zhizhizhi
· 荧
· dark
· 佞臣
· rong
The first challenge for the new team was a performance at the Chinese finals of WESG 2017. There the young organization managed to show themselves well as they took third place.
Later Keen Gaming managed to make it to the main championship of ESL One Hamburg. The club took 5-6 place which also could be considered as a good result.
Unfortunately, the debut performances did not save Keen from reshuffles that started at the beginning of 2018.
Reshuffle Period and Attempts to Stick to the Top
In January 2018, the team lost zhizhizhi, and a bit later Rong. Their slots were taken by Ms and yoona.
Keen’s renewed roster played till the end of February. In this period, the most successful results were second place at WESG 2017 APAC Finals, and a victory at the qualifiers for Dota 2 Asia Championship.
In February, the team took on old chicken. The new player joined Keen at Dota 2 Asia Championship 2018 where the players took the crushing 15-16 place. This fail triggered new changes: old chicken returned to EHOME, and Keen Gaming joined Mevius that replaced Ms.
After the usual changes in the roster, Keen took second place at GESC: Thailand Dota2 Minor. This outcome should have inspired the team and sparked the team’s confidence, however, the roster showed a low level with the 5-8 placement at the qualifiers for The International 2018.
After missing TI, Keen took third place at MPGL Asian Championship and second at JJB Cup – The China Hope Series. However, the prize position at such nondescript tournaments did not help to save the roster.
In August the team lost Mevius, and in September the team faced a big reshuffle. The team welcomed sss, eLeVeN, and Kaka. However, in October, the team was changed again: eLeVeN went on a little vacation and his slot was taken by old chicken. Also, the team dismissed the player who had just joined the team – sss. Also the team took on Erica and Fyms.
Till the end of 2018, Keen Gaming managed to balance their results. In December, the team won two championships: The China Hope Series #2 and H-Cup Season 12. The team entered the new season with new power.
2019
2019 started for Keen Gaming with third place at The Bucharest Minor. Later Keen won JJB Spring Cup Season 1 and stopped one step away from winning World Electronic Sports Games 2018.
In March 2019, Keen Gaming performed at the first major tournament for the organization. It was the eleventh season of DreamLeague, and the roster took the 5-6 place there.
April brought the biggest victory in the organization’s history. Keen took first place at ESL One Mumbai 2019, defeating Mineski at the final. However, the roster was unable to repeat the success at the upcoming MDL Disneyland Paris Major Keen Gaming: they took 9-12 place.
Then there was a series of not the most successful performances that finished with 13-16 place at The International 2019.
It is obvious that the failure at the main tournament of the year led to changes in the roster. In September, the team welcomed Mushi, Kamma, and 天命. The team dismissed kaka, old chicken, and eLeVen. The update in the roster did not help to improve the results.
Till the end of 2019, Keen had a series of mediocre performances at rather insignificant tournaments. The best result was a victory at World Electronic Sports Games 2019 China – Northern Circuit.
2020 and Keen’s Sunset
At the beginning of 2020, Keen’s roster was altered again. In January the team said goodbye to their coach LaNm, and his post was given to 71.
The first months of 2020 are hardly successful for Keen: the team took 7 place at China Dota2 Professional League Season 1, failed the qualifiers for ESL One Los Angeles 2020 China Closed Qualifier and took third place at the qualifiers for StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3.
In April, the club tried to reboot the Dota 2 roster. The new team included Erica, Blood, xiaofu, Yds and Fantasy. However, the roster was not to reach the top.
The renewed roster took ninth place at CDA League Season 1 and 7-8 at OGA Dota PIT Season 1: China. It was followed by second place at Asia Spring Invitational and 8 place at China Dota2 Professional League Season 2. The last tournament for the team was DPL-CDA Professional League Season 1 which brought the eighth place to the team.
In May 2020, Keen Gaming announced the dismissal of the roster and left the competitive Dota.
Organization and Awards
In the period of existence of the organization, the club collaborated with AKPlAYER, and TheOne was the leader of the club.
Since the moment of its foundatio, the Dota 2 roster has made over $1,200,000 of grabs for the organization.
