Dota 2 has released the long-awaited patch 7.36!
Danil ChepilDota 2 community fans are celebrating today! Valve has released the long-awaited patch, which introduces new mechanics, as well as a comprehensive rebalance of items and heroes. The most interesting part is that Valve released such a major patch in the middle of the DreamLeague Season 23 tournament, where teams will have to play the playoffs on the new patch!
Key changes in Dota 2 patch 7.36:
Innate Abilities
- Each hero has their own innate ability from the beginning of the game.
- You can see it by hovering your mouse over a new icon, which is located between the hero's abilities and talent tree both on the hero's page and in-game.
- Innate abilities come in two types:Some provide a constant unique effect — for example, Faceless Void slows down enemy attack projectiles, and Dawnbreaker reveals the entire map at sunrise.
- Others add an extra level to a regular ability and make it available from the start — for example, Kunkka has Tidebringer right away and can level it up four more times as usual. The same goes for Legion Commander and her Moment of Courage ability.
Aspects
- Aspects allow you to choose the playstyle that best suits you or the specific situation. Each hero has at least two aspects, and they can be changed before the game starts, including during the planning phase.
- Aspects can be found on the hero's page above their abilities, in-game above the innate ability icon, in the scoreboard, and on the top panel (by holding the Alt key).
- Aspects cannot be changed after the planning phase and are not revealed to the enemy team until the game starts.
- Aspects can affect heroes in various ways, for example:Viper can either add instant damage around the target of Poison Attack or become more resilient in the area of Nethertoxin.
- Wraith King can either summon skeletons or deal additional damage with his attacks through Hex.
- Leshrac can either restore mana with attacks or speed up the explosions of Diabolic Edict, sacrificing its damage to buildings.
- Lone Druid can either enhance the effect of Spirit Link and share lifesteal or make True Form apply to his bear instead of the hero.
Other Changes
- The planning phase will last 15/10/5 seconds longer in the first/second/third weeks after the numbered update.
- The cooldown for fortifying buildings is no longer reset after the first tier-three tower is destroyed.
- The cooldown for fortifying buildings is now reset after the first melee barracks are destroyed.
- Spell radius increases now apply to all auras and cleaving damage.
- Experience for denying an allied hero now goes to the player who applied the effect allowing the deny.
- Mana bars are now always visible to opponents.
- The fountain's effect now grants couriers maximum movement speed.
- If the courier has no items, the "Deliver Items" command will send it back to base.
- Mana cost reduction no longer affects abilities that gradually consume mana.
- Cast range now has its own icon and is displayed separately next to mana cost and cooldown.
- Holding the Alt key now shows the vision radius of all wards.
- Experience gained from abilities and the Wisdom Rune is now displayed in the post-game experience breakdown menu for Dota Plus subscribers.
- A "UPGRADES WITH:" parameter has been added for abilities that improve with other abilities.
- Icons indicating upgrades from Aghanim's Shard, Aghanim's Scepter, talents, or aspects are now displayed next to relevant ability values.
- The live and replay viewer controls have been updated to match the detached view.
- The fog of war for Radiant or Dire now correctly hides players whose view is detached from the rest and who are not visible.
- Viewing from a player's perspective with a detached view now correctly hides units that are not visible.
- Pinging enemy items out of vision no longer reveals if they have been used.
- The -createhero command in the hero testing mode now supports aspect selection: type the aspect name or number at the end of the command.
- A new feature in Dota Labs: constant range indicator. By holding the Alt key and right-clicking on the experience or attack range indicator (when hovering over attributes next to the portrait), or on an ability or item, a corresponding range indicator will be displayed in-game. Only one indicator can be active at a time, but it will automatically update if the radius or range changes for any reason.
- A new feature in Dota Labs: dynamic health bar focus. If this option is enabled, the health bar of the creature under the mouse cursor will be displayed above others.
- Added the ability to type a hero's name in the in-game patch notes list to jump to them.
Ability Draft
- Innate abilities in Ability Draft mode function as follows:Innate abilities not shown on the hero's ability panel are automatically granted at spawn but cannot be selected.
- Upgradable innate abilities can be chosen and are not automatically granted.
- Other innate abilities are unavailable in this mode.
