Tundra - Goonsquad: Major or Replays?

DPC WEU 2021/2022 Tour 3, where the best teams of the first division collided, is gradually coming to an end. Today there will be a meeting between the favorites of the tournament Tundra Esports, and the outsiders who are on the verge of relegation Goonsquad. The former need a win to gain a foothold in the rankings, and get a coveted slot at the PGL Arlington Major, in turn, a victory for the latter will be an opportunity to stay in the top division.

Tundra Esports got off to a great start in the tournament, scoring two easy wins against Alliance (2-0) and OG (2-0), and one slightly harder one against Secret (2-1). Then the meeting with Team Liquid on the third game week brought the team the only defeat (1-2). The last victory over Entity (2-1) allowed the team to gain a foothold in the second position along with Liquid, and now they are one of the contenders for the major.

The second team showed itself many times worse over the past matches. The first week brought the team a resounding victory over Team Liquid (2-1), but despite this, they could not cope with the tops of the western region, and as a result of the next two defeats from Entity (0-2) and Gaming Gladiators (0-2). This was followed by a victory over Alliance, which showed the weakest performance in the tournament (2-0), and a defeat from season favorites OG (0-2). Ultimately, the team is below the redline of relegation, and winning the next two matches is the only chance to stay in the division.

We think it will be a very one-sided match, because it is extremely important for Tundra players to get to the upcoming Arlington Major. In turn, Goonsquad is still too early to play at the level of tier 1 of the scene, because the victory over Liquid is more luck.

Earlier, the first participant of the Arlington Major from WEU was determined, they turned out to be OG, which you can read about in our article.
