Fortnite’s next major story event, Zero Hour, is set to close out Chapter 6 on November 29 with one of the biggest crossover finales the game has staged. The special event brings together nearly every collaboration from the past year alongside a direct confrontation with the chapter’s main villain. It also marks the transition into Fortnite Chapter 7, which launches after maintenance concludes. Here’s everything you need to know about joining the event and when it goes live in each region.
When Does Fortnite Live Event Start & How To Join It
Zero Hour is the official Chapter 6 finale event, before Chapter 7 launch, featuring a large-scale story sequence that includes Godzilla, King Kong, Power Rangers, TMNT, and many more crossovers. To join it, players simply need to search for the Zero Hour experience in the Discovery tab once it appears. Epic Games has confirmed that doors open 40 minutes before showtime, giving players enough time to load in before the event begins. Zero Hour takes place on November 29 at 2 PM ET, and will only run once.

Fortnite is currently running the Simpsons mini-season, a short event-based stretch that has replaced the standard map with Springfield for several weeks. This mini-season ends on November 29, and the Battle Pass becomes unavailable earlier that morning, marking the close of Chapter 6’s final progression window.
Once Zero Hour ends, Fortnite will go offline for the transition to Chapter 7. According to dataminers and recent reporting, the downtime is expected to last roughly half a day before Chapter 7 Season 1 opens later on November 29 or early November 30, depending on region.
