TI10: Evil Geniuses on their way to a higher place in the top 2!
Maksym ShylovEvil Geniuses had an amazing stretch of the DPC season in 2021, and they missed a lot of championships in 2020, but it paid off, as it turned out later. Unfortunately, RAMZES666 did not catch on and then, as he says, left EG, although this was a clear mistake if you look at the current situation.
Apart from leagues and DPC tournaments, we have never seen Evil Geniuses anywhere. In general, it was enough for them to play 4 championships and they are already at The International 10.
Evil Geniuses results in 2021
- 1st place in the first DPC-League [North America] -}} Online
- 2nd place at ONE Esports Singapore Major -}} LAN
- 2nd place in the second DPC-League [North America] -}} Online
- 2nd place at WePlay AniMajor 2021 -}} LAN
Many underestimated Evil Geniuses throughout the season, including myself, but really, they play in the North America region, where only Quincy Crew, Undying and that is of serious rivals. Despite the lack of objective competition in the region, they came to two Majors and took the top-2 twice, although they should have become champions at ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021, if they hadn't rained down after 2: 0 with iG, this will remain in the heads of Evil players for a long time Geniuses. Arthurka (Arteezy) does not know how to win in serious tournaments and, perhaps, there is something in psychology.
At the last tournament - WePlay Animajor 2021, Evil Geniuses left the group with 1 win, 5 draws and 1 loss. Thus, we went to the lower bracket, where they outplayed NoPing Esports, TNC Predator, Nigma, Vici Gaming and T1, most of these teams will play at The International 10, but this is so, by the way. In the final they were smeared by PSG.LGD.
Evil Geniuses are clearly determined to win The International 10, they have a bootcamp in Monaco and they have very experienced players, just like Fly or iceiceice. It seems to me that the ceiling for them is 5-6th place, although they played well the season, it doesn't matter at The International, all the more it is hard to believe in a stable game from iceiceice and Arteezy, there are always questions to Abed, everything else is ok.
My main thought, which will be in all articles: The International is a tournament of a different scale, it cannot be compared with anything else. Any player will have their hands shaking when the prize pool is $ 40 million, and the value of one best of 3-series or card in the group stage reaches over a million dollars.

The best result for Evil Geniuses is definitely a victory at The International 2015, and for the current roster, it is 3rd place at The International 2018, and the worst is 9th-12th place at The International 2017. I got excited with the experience of Team Secret, Evil Geniuses have players who are well to play at The International very often, albeit in completely different compositions.
Some predict Evil Geniuses a high place, but for some reason it seems to me that they will stop at the 5th-6th place, if not lower.
Mini Prediction: Maximum EG at The International 10 - Top 5-6
Bookmakers give 7.1 odds for Evil Geniuses to win in The International 10, and this team's reaching the grand final is estimated at 3.5.
