League of Legends Patch 25.15 Overview: Champion Changes, Ability Preview & Baron Update

In Patch 25.15, released on July 30, 2025, players are greeted with pleasant additions and useful changes. Alongside balance adjustments for Summoner’s Rift and ARAM, the developers introduced a new feature — the ability to preview champion abilities before making a selection. This is especially handy for those who haven’t played a certain champion in a while and want a quick refresher. Several bugs were also fixed. And of course, all of this can be enjoyed in the relaxing atmosphere of the Spirit Blossom map with its hot springs.
Ability Preview During Champion Select

Starting with this update, all game modes with champion select, including ARAM, will feature a new ability preview function. Players can now quickly check a champion’s abilities by simply hovering over their portrait. This is useful for refreshing your memory on older champions, learning about new ones, or seeing what an enemy champion can do.
After locking in your pick, a detailed ability description will also be available to help you better prepare for the match. For experienced players who don’t need any extra tips, this feature can be disabled in the game settings.

Battle at Kesin/ Kesin’s Court
There’s a small update to the Battle at Kesin mini-game. Now, players can access Kesin’s Court regardless of how many levels of the mini-game they’ve completed. A dedicated button will appear in the Battle at Kesin menu, giving direct access to the Court.
This change was made in response to player feedback — many felt it was unfair to lock the romantic area behind full completion of all battles. The developers agreed that beauty shouldn’t only be accessible through combat.
Systems changes in LoL Patch 25.15
Baron Nashor received an important change: he no longer regenerates health during combat. This eliminates situations where players carefully calculated damage from Smite or “Devour,” only for Baron to survive due to unexpected regeneration. To compensate for the loss of in-combat healing, his total health was increased by 100 — from 11,400 to 11,500. Out-of-combat health regeneration remains unchanged.

Rell | Rell is another overperforming tank support. Her durability has been lowered. | W: shield 25–125 ⇒ 20–100 |
Most of the updates are aimed at the pro scene, since many of the affected champions are rarely picked in regular games. This is especially true for tank supports like Rell, Alistar, and Braum. It’s also good to see that the developers noticed how strong some champions became after the last item update — instead of nerfing the items again, they chose to slightly rebalance the champions themselves.
And of course, we can’t forget about the new All Spirit Blossom 2025 Skins, which will expand on the lineup introduced last season.
ARAM Balance Changes

In ARAM, the death screen visual effect has been updated — it’s now less intense, with reduced color saturation and distortion. There were also map mechanic tweaks: the movement speed bonus near Spirit Blossom portals has been removed, and Bilgewater fruits now provide 50% more shield and last longer.
As for champion balance, plenty of adjustments were made. Akali now deals standard damage (previously -5%) and takes 5% less damage, while her abilities scale better with AP. Briar received a strong buff: increased healing and more damage reduction on. Caitlyn was slightly nerfed — her now deals less damage at higher levels. Hecarim’s cooldown is now shorter, and Kassadin’s got buffed across the board.
Nunu got noticeably stronger — both the healing from and the snowball damage were increased. Quinn’s now functions correctly on the map and auto-activates after respawning. Sett was nerfed: the Grit-to-damage ratio on was reduced. Senna deals less damage in ARAM now, and Teemo lost 5 ability haste, with his mushrooms lasting 3 minutes instead of 5.
Talon received multiple buffs: higher damage on and, and significantly lower cooldowns on and. Ziggs was slightly nerfed — his damage to minions is now 20% lower.
As for items, only Ghostblade was changed: its price dropped from 3000 to 2800 gold, and the quirky bug that allowed teleporting enemies to base has been fixed.
A.R. U.R.F.
A.R. U.R.F. mode is back — this time on the Spirit Blossom map, complete with all its unique changes. This round, the mode also includes the familiar card system from ARAM. The developers have updated the balance based on previous versions of the mode and promise to keep an eye on how it performs.
Several champions received adjustments: Katarina, Nidalee, Senna, and Skarner now deal more damage (increased from 105% or 100% to 110%). Skarner also got a buff to his shield. On the other hand, Annie was nerfed — she now takes 5% more damage, and her shield strength was reduced to 90%.
Our Opinion on the New LoL Patch 25.15
Overall, the patch turned out to be solid, both for casual players and the pro scene. Most of the champion changes are clearly aimed at professional play, since many of the affected champions aren’t particularly popular in regular matches. However, the Baron change is a great one in our opinion — it reduces the chances of an enemy stealing Baron from you just because of its regeneration, especially when you’ve done all the math to secure it. And let’s not forget that Spirit Blossom Springs Ahri is coming soon — a skin many players have been looking forward to since its announcement.
Aside from that, the update turned out quite well: ARAM improvements, the return of A.R. U.R.F., and of course the new skill preview feature. It’ll help new players adapt faster and returning veterans remember what each champion’s abilities do.
