Recap: Hades 2 All We Know
Hades 2 is a direct sequel set in the Underworld of Greek myth, featuring Melinoë, sister of Zagreus, as the main protagonist. With Hades imprisoned, players face Chronos, the Titan of Time, who has escaped captivity to wage war on Olympus. Training under Hecate, goddess of witchcraft, Melinoë wields sorcery, shadowy weapons, and a range of new abilities.
The game builds upon the foundation of the first entry with expanded systems such as the Arcana Altar, witchy familiars, and Tools of the Unseen for resource gathering. Classic elements like Olympian boons and God Mode return, while new locations and challenges expand the roguelike progression. Developed by Supergiant Games with a small team of fewer than 30 people, Hades 2 marks the studio’s first-ever sequel and aims to deliver a larger and deeper experience across mythological settings.
