GRID Announces Partnership with Epic Esports Events

Information platform GRID announced a partnership with the Russian organizer of esports tournaments Epic Esports Events.

As a result of the agreement, GRID will provide its data distribution services for Epic Esports Events, including the recently launched Dota 2 Champions League series. There is also a possibility that the deal is aimed at the upcoming RMR CS: GO tournament. If you believe the rumors, Epic Esports Events will be in charge of the championship.

According to the press release, GRID is committed to ensuring the secure distribution of data during Epic events, and the platform's developments will also be used to create content such as visual additions for the Russian broadcast of the tournament organizer. Data driven content will also be available on TEBTV's English broadcast.

The first tournament in the Epic D2CL series will take place online. The group stage of the championship will take place from 5 to 10 April. A total of 20 teams will take part in the competition, with 15 teams receiving direct invitations to either the group stages or the playoffs.

Some of the invited teams include Vikin.gg, Team Spirit, High Coast, and Hellraisers. All four teams were directly invited to the playoffs. Open qualifiers will be held before the group stage from April 3rd to 4th, as a result of which the last four participants will be determined.

Epic also announced that the total prize pool for the first Dota 2 Champions League event will be $ 25,000.

GRID was created in 2018 with the aim of providing data services for monetizing and attracting fans for tournament organizers and game publishers. The platform's commercial portfolio includes companies such as WePlay Esports, Funspark and LetsPlay.Live.
