Norwegian esports organization Nordavind has announced a commercial partnership with cryptocurrency company Norwegian Block Exchange (NBX).
According to the press release, NBX and Nordavind will seek to implement cryptocurrency-focused bonus and loyalty programs for players, payment portals and tournaments that provide some opportunities for participants and viewers.
The integration of cryptocurrency into esports has become a growing topic in the industry, especially as organizations seek to capitalize on the digital asset through NFTs (non-replaceable tokens) or blockchain platforms.
In addition to bonus and loyalty programs, Nordavind is also integrating NBX branding into its social content and apparel. In addition, the two organizations will collaborate on digital and physical tournaments, such as events for their community across multiple eSports disciplines.
Nordavind isn't the only esports organization to announce a cryptocurrency partnership this week. Simplicity Esports and Gaming yesterday announced a partnership with Project Token and the University of Central Florida's Blockchain Innovation Lab to sell a limited edition NFS to members of its gaming hubs.
