General information about the tournament and the organizer
This tournament organized by DreamHack will be taking place in Stockholm, Sweden. The holding place will be Ericsson Globe, and the prize pool of this event will consist of $250,000. Sixteen collectives from various countries of the world will take part in it.
DreamHack is one of the most experienced and popular organizer in the CS:GO world. The have held several Major tournaments and a lot of other major events taken place in different parts of the planet. That is why there is no doubt that the tournament will be really interesting.
The prize pool
The organizers have decided that the prize pool of DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018 must be $250,000. Unlike the recent ZOTAC Masters Cup 2018, neither of the participants will leave the tournament without any prize but the collectives taking the last places in the tournament bracket will get only we 0,8% from the whole prize pool, and it is $2,000.
That is also what the teams taking the 9-12 places should expect. The collectives getting to the Top 8 of the participants in DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018, will get 8% from the prize pool which is $10,000. The teams taking the 3-4 places will earn $22,000. The finalist that can't win the decisive battle will be the owner of the prize consisting of $50,000, while the champion will get the main money reward of $100,000.
The holding format
The format of holding of this tournament will be familiar for everybody. The teams will be divided into four groups by the GSL system at first. The first matches will be held in the Bo1 format, while the other meetings will be played in the Bo3 format. Two best teams from each group will get to the playoff where they will fight for the main part of the prize pool. The collectives taking the 3-4 place in their group will leave the tournament earning a money reward of $2,000.
The next stage will be held in the Single Elimination bracket. All the matches including the Grand final will be held in the Bo3 format.
Intel Grand Slam
This event will become a part of the series of tournaments Intel Grand Slam. We want to remind that the first team winning four championships of the series Intel Grand Slam, will get a money reward of $1,000,000.
At the moment the representatives of FaZe Clan are the closest to their goal. They have three victories out of four necessary wins. FaZe Clan managed to win such championships as ESL One New York 2017, Intel Extreme Masters XIII - Sydney and ESL One: Belo Horizonte 2018. The titans of the Danish CS:GO Astralis hold the second place in the list of the best teams of Intel Grand Slam. They have two wins gained at such tournaments as DreamHack Masters Marseille 2018 and ESL Pro League Season 7 - Finals. Such teams as Natus Vincere, Ninjas in Pyjamas, MIBR and Fnatic have one win from Intel Grand Slam each.
Tournament reporting
The main host of the oncoming championship will be one of the most popular and favourite hosts - Alex “Machine” Richardson.
Such casters as Chad “SPUNJ” Burchill, Jacob “Pimp” Winneche and Mathieu “Maniac” Quiquerez will analyze the matches for the audience.
Such popular people as Anders “Anders” Blume, Jason “moses” O’Toole, Henry “HenryG” Greer and Vince “Vince” Hill will comment on the math for the viewers. Conner “Scrawny” Girvan and Hugo “Hugo Byron” Byron will be commenting remotely.
