Japanese esports organization REJECT has removed SaRa from its PUBG Mobile roster. This decision was made due to the cybersportsman's discriminatory statements aimed at ridiculing people with disabilities.
It has been confirmed that there have been inappropriate comments from players affiliated with our PUBG Mobile division.
During a conversation with other players who belong to our team, remarks were revealed that made fun of people with disabilities. The remark was made without the use of voice chat. Upon receiving the above report, we immediately interviewed the person in question and found that it was true.
We do not tolerate any discrimination. We have come to the conclusion that such statements are highly inappropriate and constitute a serious violation of the code of conduct, and have decided to get rid of them in the following way.
As a result, SaRa will cease to be our player until the end of the year. The total amount of compensation to the player for this period will be reduced.
We take this issue seriously and think deeply about the fact that such an incident occurred, as it was due to our lack of proper control in player management. We have decided that SaRa's statement this time is unacceptable and that severe punishment must be issued. At the same time, we decided to use the above disposition to give SaRa an opportunity to sincerely reflect on his mistakes and redeem himself.
In addition, we will initiate compliance training and provide ongoing compliance training for all of our employees, including our players, streamers, and managers, to ensure full ethics awareness. In addition, we will strengthen our internal management system and work to prevent similar situations from happening again in the future.
Finally, we would like to once again express our deepest apologies for the inconvenience caused to all the fans who supported REJECT, the sponsors and all the other members. We would also like to express our sincere apologies to those who felt uncomfortable about this. We are very sorry.
SaRa joined REJECT in January 2021. During this time, the 20-year-old Japanese player helped the team win PUBG Mobile Japan League Season 1 Phase 1 and PUBG Mobile Japan League Season 1.
REJECT's current PUBG Mobile roster is as follows:
