The preview of OGA Dota PIT Minor 2019
Anton PashencevEight teams will meet in Croatia on April 22 to divide the prize pool in the sum of $300,000, 500 DPC points and an invitation to MDL Disneyland® Paris Major.
The format
Eight teams from various parts of our planet will participate in the competition. Each of them has had to pass regional qualifications. You can find out the distribution of slots below:
- Europe - 2 slots
- China - 2 slots
- Southeast Asia - 1 slot
- North America - 1 slot
- South America - 1 slot
- CIS - 1 slot
All participants have been divided into two groups where they will see a Round Robin system with bo3 matches. It's worth to notice that the group stage is not very important because none of the teams will be eliminated from the competition on the outcome of it. The final standings of the rosters in quartets will only make an impact on the seeding in the upper playoff bracket.

The participants will see a double-elimination bracket with bo3 matches in the final stage and the first three rounds of the loser's bracket will be played in a bo1 format. We will see five maps only in the grand final.
The importance of the championship
The tournament is extremely important for teams because the rosters like Alliance, NiP, Gambit probably want to receive a slot in the Major and this championship is a good opportunity for the guys from Majestic esports and BOOM ID to gain experience in fighting pretty strong teams and earn well.

The teams’ chances
The favorites of the tournament, according to Parimatch
NiP - odds on the victory are equal to 2.9
RNGU - odds on the victory are equal to 4.7
Gambit Esports - odds on the victory are equal to 5.5
All above-mentioned teams have already themselves from the best side at the international arena and each of them can win. For example, Gambit Esports has made it to the grand final of The Bucharest Minor and StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor, NiP has entered the top four at The Kuala Lumpur Major and RNG has placed third at DreamLeague Season 10. The Chinese roster with PPD has recently started playing a bit weaker, so they will their way to the Major from the Minor and Fng's team has always had problems with regional qualifications, so they can be expected to have good results at the upcoming competition.
The outsiders of the tournament, according to Parimatch
BOOM ID - odds on the victory are equal to 18
Majestic Esports - odds on the victory are equal to 42.5
The roster of BOOM ID has also visited a few of large competitions and tournaments with rating points, including The Bucharest Minor and StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor. The guys performed pretty well at these events and even won maps against stronger teams, however, they were not able to place 7th-8th. In its turn, Majestic esports (ex-Pacific Esports) was created right before the qualifiers to the event and won it due to very weak teams in South America. A bit later, the guys took part in Mekansm League and placed 9th-12th there, despite all participants were from South America. All these reflects the instability of the team and it's not worth to expect a strong performance from Wisper and the company.
The rest participants of the competition
EHOME - odds on the victory are equal to 6.3
Alliance - odds on the victory are equal to 8.5
Forward Gaming - odds on the victory are equal to 11
The above-mentioned teams were pretty strong to participate in Majors a couple of month ago, however, made replacements on the main rosters and are just returning to their optimal shape. EHOME, Alliance, and Forward Gaming might advance pretty far because the format is optimal for such teams, especially considering that the first three rounds of the loser's bracket will be hosted in a bo1 format.
