Tournament Formats
Deadlock tournaments feature two primary formats: Single-Elimination Bracket, Double-Elimination Bracket and Swiss Bracket.
In the Single-Elimination Bracket, teams compete in a knockout format. If a team loses a match, they're out of the tournament. This format is fast-paced and intense, perfect for showcasing high-stakes matches.
In the Double-Elimination Bracket, teams have a second chance. Even after losing once, teams enter a lower bracket where they can fight their way back to the finals. This format offers more opportunities for comebacks and allows for more matches, providing a thrilling experience for both players and spectators.
The Swiss Bracket format offers a unique approach where teams are not eliminated after a single loss. Instead, all teams play a set number of rounds, and they are paired against opponents with similar records after each round. This system ensures that teams of similar skill levels face off, and every team has the chance to compete throughout the entire tournament. After all rounds are completed, the top teams advance to a knockout stage to determine the final winner.
Team Structure and Match Formats
Teams in Deadlock tournaments consist of 6 players each. Matches are played in various formats to test different strategies and team dynamics:
- Bo1 (Best of 1): Quick and decisive, where a single match determines the winner.
- Bo3 (Best of 3): A balanced format, giving teams a chance to adapt and counter strategies across multiple games.
- Bo5 (Best of 5): The ultimate test of skill and endurance, where a team needs to win three out of five games to secure victory.
Tournament Statuses
Deadlock tournaments are categorized into three statuses:
