Among them are JD Gaming and Ninjas in Pyjamas, who will play each other to reach the top 3. This match of The International is interesting at least because it features a very unexpected pair: JD Gaming, from whom you are used to expect top games, and NiP - the real discovery of the season.

JDG debuted with a victory over BDS. I would like to mention the European club, which kept in the game till about 20 minutes. It was expected that the defeat would be much bigger than the final 14-6 in favour of the Chinese.

The second match JD Gaming played against Bilibili Gaming, vice-champions of MSI 2023 and LPL Spring 2023. Being the top team in China, JDG easily defeated the third team from the Middle Kingdom, closing the series with a 19-7 score in 24 minutes.

In the play-offs match, JD Gaming played against their compatriots from LNG Esports. They won the match, but not without problems (2-1).

In the first play-offs match JD Gaming played against KT Rolster. Losing the first map, JDG showed why they are considered the main contender to win Worlds 2023: absolutely dominant game without any chances for KT Rolster residents.

Next, the situation was the exact opposite. Facing T1, JDG managed to take only one card in the bo5 series. The defeat by T1 ended JDG's Golden Road in 2023.

JD Gaming started the play-offs of Demacia Cup 2023 with a match against TOP Esports. There, JDG won with a score of 3-2. In the previous match, JDG demolished Rare Atom with a score of 3-0. In the Demacia Cup 2023 grand final, however, they were weaker than BLG, losing 0-3 and finishing top 2.

In the LPL Spring 2024 regular season, JD Gaming finished in 3rd place with a 13-3 record. The first play-offs opponent for JDG was Weibo Gaming and JDG did well: they won 3-0. But in the next game against TOP Esports the outcome was much less favourable for JDG, where TES lost 0-3.

We continue our match review with an analysis of NiP's form. In this match they will play as an outsider with odds to win around 3.

The first tournament for the "ninjas" was LPL Spring 2023. There NiP took the top-13, which is not a terrible result for the debut.

After the Top 13 at LPL Spring 2023, Ninjas in Pyjamas resorted to stand-ins. They affected both the management and the playing staff. The changes were clearly beneficial, because in the summer split NiP looked fresh and deservedly passed in the play-offs LPL Summer 2023. In the group stage, NiP finished in the top 10 and made it to the play-offs, where they even managed to get through the first round and ended up in the top 8.

NiP continued to show class in the play-offs. The first match of the main stage was against the vice-champions of Worlds 2023 Weibo Gaming. And not just played, but won - in a serious fight (3-2). As a result of Demacia Cup 2023 NiP managed to get into the top 4, where "Ninjas" met with Bilibili and lost.

In the group stage of LPL Spring 2024, NiP, I would say, played better than what was expected of them. They finished in the top 5, which allowed them to go straight into the second round of play-offs.

LPL Spring 2024 started the main stage with a pretty tough win over Team WE. NiP won with a score of 3-2. Then another win and this time against FPX and again 3-2. And with Bilibili Gaming NiP failed, but managed to take the map - 1-3.
