Top Rocket League players of the 2022-23 RLCS season
Elen StelmakhThe RLCS 2022-23 season in the Rocket League is moving slowly towards completion. The San Diego Winter Major will take place in April, while we will find out the next world champion in the summer.
But we can already point to the best players, who are objectively the biggest stars of the competitive scene. There are only ten such players, but they are the ones who are leaving their mark on the history of the discipline.
It is worth mentioning beforehand that there are no representatives from Latin America, the Middle East, Oceania and Asia on the list of the best players. Considering the specifics of the regions and their level of competition, it is worth paying attention to players from North America and Europe, which are traditionally full of talent.
Atomic
The young American made a name for himself while playing for Team Envy, winning numerous regional tournaments in two years and finishing third in the RLCS Season X - North American Championship.
Atomic joined G2 Esports at the start of 2022 and dominated his time there, winning the Rocket League Championship Series 2021-22 - Winter Split Major as well as finishing second in last year's Rocket League Championship Series 2021-22 - World Championship.
What's more, the 19-year-old is doing well on the field, contributing to 71.74% of his team's goals. He has an average of almost three shots on goal per game and just over two saves. In other words, Atomic is an indispensable cog in the success of G2 Esports.
Vatira
The 16-year-old Frenchman needs no introduction as, at his age, he has won just about every championship except the World Cup. Vatira's success story begins back in 2019 when he joined Team Queso.
Listing all the merits of the French cyber athlete is pointless, as the list is really big. At the end of last season, Vatira moved to Moist Esports, where he celebrated winning the Spring Major, but before the start of RLCS 2022-23 he decided to go to Karmine Corp.
Here the "champion" continued to collect wins at regional level, also reaching the quarterfinals of the fall major. As for individual stats, Vatira is also cool here, averaging more goals per game, almost two and a half shots per game and plenty of useful action.
Archie
Another rising star of the competitive scene, who has managed to change several big teams by the age of 17. Over the past two years Archie has played for SMPR Esports and Endpoint CeX, most notably reaching the semifinals of the Rocket League Championship Series 2021-22 - Fall Split Major.
However, before the start of the new season, the young Briton joined Oxygen Esports, where he continued to develop his skills and score goals. In other words, Archie became the element the team needed to reach the next level.
When it comes to statistics, Archie is noted for his high number of shots per game as well as one goal per game. What's more, he's an excellent sub, providing his teammates with a fair amount of goalscoring opportunities.
Firstkiller
Back in North America, where Firstkiller has been a standout for years now. The FaZe Clan leader has been part of the team for a season and a half. However during that time the 18 year old American has managed to grow into a true star of his region.
Amongst Firstkiller's many victories on the regional level, including a surprise rise during this season's Winter Split. What's more, the American reached the semi-finals of last year's Rocket League Championship Series 2021-22 - World Championship.
Statistically, Firstkiller is involved in 75.44% of his team's goals and also makes almost two and a half saves per game. Despite his realisation problems (at two and a half, he is scoring less than one goal per game), the American is a serious irritant on the pitch.
oaly.
Speaking of the best players of the season, you can't get past a shadowy hero named oaly. The 19-year-old Dutchman only recently joined Oxygen Esports, but he has become a prominent figure in the team's lineup in the last six months.
In that time he has won RLCS 2022-23 - Fall: Europe Regional 1 - Fall Open as well as the Rocket League Championship Series 2022-23 - Fall Split Major quarterfinals.

In terms of stats, the Dutch player is also good - almost one goal per game, over three shots per game and actually one goal per game.
ApparentlyJack
We also can't forget the Englishman, who has managed to sweep North America under his belt in six months. ApparentlyJack used to be the perennial leader of Dignitas, but did not gain glory in international competitions.
But that all changed at the start of the new season when the 19-year-old joined the Gen.G Mobil1 Racing squad. Here his results took off as the Englishman managed to win the third event of the Autumn Split as well as the Rocket League Championship Series 2022-23 - Fall Split Major in a short period of time.
That said, ApparentlyJack is a notable player who leads the team. In particular, the Englishman is putting his efforts into 70% of Gen.G Mobil1 Racing's goals by offering a wide range of features.
Daniel
Another notablefigure this season is Daniel. The 16-year-old American is in his second year playing for the Spacestation Gaming team, where his career actually began.
Despite his lack of big wins and accomplishments, Daniel has been incredibly consistent throughout his months with the Spacestation Gaming team.
In particular, the young player is scoring around one goal per game, making almost two and a half saves per game, as well as taking over three shots on the opponent's goal.
JKnaps
Another G2 Esports player, JKnaps, should not be left out of this list. The Canadian has been a leader for the Samurai for the past six years, experiencing ups and downs with the team.
And there's no point in talking about the results of the 23-year-old cyber-sports player, who in his time has experienced a change of discipline, a change in the ecosystem structure, and has won everything you can dream of.
But even now, JKnaps continues to help his young teammates by offering many useful options on the field. Yes, the Canadian's stats aren't exactly top-notch (fewer goals per game and only one and a half saves per game), but experience is a major asset, particularly appreciated in major tournaments.
itachi
Among the best, there must be a place for itachi, the Moroccan player of Karmine Corp. The 19-year-old has been playing for the team for a year and a half and has already made it to the top.
Specifically, he has won the WePlay Esports Invitational featuring Rocket League - EMEA, RLCS 2022-23 - Fall: EU Regional 2 - Fall Cup and two Winter Split events this season.
In terms of statistics, itachi is also good with 0.73 goals per game, 0.80 assists per game and almost one and a half saves. That said, his contribution on the pitch cannot be overestimated as the player is an important element in Karmine Corp's game.
Joreuz
Amongst other notable figures, we should highlight Joreuz. The 17-year-old Dutchman joined Oxygen Esports before the start of the season, although he had already proven himself in Dignitas.
Already this season he won RLCS 2022-23 - Fall: EU Regional 1 - Fall Open and also reached the quarterfinals of Rocket League Championship Series 2022-23 - Fall Split Major.
What's more, Joreuz has been active in shots on goal (over three per game) as well as making about one and a half saves per game. In other words, the boy's potential is already evident and he'll be among the strongest in the future.
There is room for a couple of other notable players. For example, ExoTiiK and rise are clearly missing from the list. However, in their current form they are slightly inferior to everyone represented in the material. Also, the Latin American players should not be forgotten, but their main problem is the lack of consistency. Thus, the current version of the scene offers a bunch of talent, with almost all of them only recently starting their careers. And if things continue like this, we will soon see even more new names.
